What You’ll Do You will own the visual design and user experience end-to-end, acting as the primary design driver for the Laravel web experience and key marketing initiatives. Lead the Design Effort: In partnership with Marketing, lead the visual design and UX of the core Laravel website and related properties, ensuring it is the best window for Laravel on the web. Drive Conversion and Craft: Design highly interactive, elegant interfaces that deliver tangible improvements in client conversion from the website to our products. You will balance brand expression with performance. Systemize and Scale: Contribute to and evolve our web design patterns and components to ensure consistency, polish, and scalability across multiple page variants and external touchpoints. Design for Performance: Own a data-informed, experimentation-first approach to design. You will create reusable, high-performing components, monitor experiment outcomes, and iterate designs based on measurable performance data. Brand Stewardship: Support design efforts beyond the web team, getting involved in creative for Product Marketing, campaigns, and evolving branding efforts, ensuring every asset has great taste and feels the Laravel way. Concept to Completion: Be comfortable operating from the initial concept to final, production-ready files, working seamlessly with developers, marketers, and writers. What You’ll Do Own the Backend & System Architecture for our website: Architect and implement the core Laravel backend, focusing on robust data models, API design, security, and scalability to support our slick design and overall traffic conversion efforts. Full Stack Feature Delivery: Take backend-leaning full stack features from idea to production, owning the entire stack from database schema and API endpoints (Laravel/PHP) through to the integration layer and light front-end components (Next.js/React). Conversion & Marketing Systems: Partner closely with Marketing to build and continuously improve the systems that drive business growth—optimizing for speed, conversion, and seamless content management. Integration and Contribution: Act as a critical resource, contributing your expertise across the full Laravel product portfolio, applying deep backend knowledge to solve complex system problems. Technical Taste Setter: Serve as a go-to expert for backend development questions, contributing to technical discovery, setting implementation standards, and driving the long-term technical vision. Full Stack Fluency: Significant experience shaping the integration layer between a PHP backend and a modern JavaScript front-end (ideally Next.js/React), including building clean, resilient APIs (REST/GraphQL). Systems Thinking: Demonstrated experience in designing scalable component models, data-loading strategies, and API architectures that scale elegantly under high traffic.
