WHAT YOU GET TO DO The TL SWDEV is responsible for the organizational disciplinary management of their team. TL SWDEV is responsible for the successful planning of the projects assigned to the team, so that the Leading Developer (LD) have the best possible condition to successfully execute the projects (in terms of quality, resources used and milestones/deadlines). The TL SWDEV is responsible for ensuring the team is stick to the development process. This position manages the projects assigned to him/her within the possible framework and represents decisions in this regard to external parties. If the project objectives are not achieved, the Team Lead has the option to escalate project with various stakeholders (internal and external to KNAPP).  Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Regular monitoring and responsibility for the team's milestones and costs (hours) relevant to software development * Checking incoming projects to see whether they can be implemented within the required time frame, taking into account the available resources and how actual implementation is possible. * The TL makes an allocation from LD to project and can also consult with the head of department for this purpose * Regular coordination with LD and developers in order to be able to recognize technical difficulties and possible delays in developments in good time * Notification of superiors in the event of unexpected difficulties and delays in developments * Organizing assessments within the team, also in collaboration with the LD * Central point of contact for the team for organizational questions from outside the department regarding projects that are the responsibility of the team. Technical queries can be forwarded to the relevant LD or developer. * Team-wide adherence to the current processes established in software development and interfaces to other departments * Regular reporting on ongoing developments and changes in the project to the department management * Scheduling of employees and developments in the resource plan and work schedule * Approval of vacation and time off * Passing on own knowledge to entrusted and other employees * Organizing regular reviews of the LD's compliance with development targets * Preparing and conducting job interviews with subsequent assessment of applicants. * Moderate willingness to travel (approx. 2-4 weeks per year) in order to evaluate the developments made during and after the integration and to incorporate findings into subsequent projects.  WHAT YOU HAVE * Knowledge of employee management and conflict resolution * Specialist knowledge in the field of software development. * Understanding of warehouse logistics procedures, processes and solutions. * Ability to process and communicate complex technical issues both orally and in writing. * Written and spoken English. * Knowledge of estimation methods established in the department for estimating effort in software development. * Very good knowledge of internal processes and tools * Knowledge of KNAPP products and how they work in the system Working Conditions and Environment: * Overtime (occasional) as required by work.  * Travel is required (up to 10 %) * Ability to travel by air domestically (US) and internationally (primarily Austria, other parts of Europe, and Canada) * Authorization to work in the U.S * Passport or ability to obtain passport * Professional office etiquette is required at all times * Physical requirements: sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm’s length, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The Software Developer II will work the Commissioning group to ensure successful delivery of the solution. The Software Developer II will work within a development team.  Projects may span across the range of Knapp software product offerings and may include the development of new software products. In addition to software development, the Software Developer II will provide third-level support.
