Compensation$186K - 186K a year

Build and maintain a comprehensive design system, improve UI consistency, and bridge design and front-end engineering. | Deep experience in UI design systems, React, TypeScript, Storybook, and collaboration with design and engineering teams. | Kit is an email-first operating system for creators who mean business. We help creators grow and monetize their audience with ease. For coaches, YouTubers, authors, podcasters, and other creatives, there isn't a better marketing hub to rely on to grow audiences, automate email marketing, and sell digital products — all within one platform. More importantly, there isn't a team more committed to helping creators earn a living. We're on a mission to help creators earn $1 billion using our creator marketing platform. We have always been 100% independent and 100% remote. We are proud to have built a product that our customers love, and we look for people who have enthusiasm and belief in our mission, vision, and values to join our team. We're also embracing AI thoughtfully — both in how we build and how we hire to ensure our team is adaptable, innovative, and ready for what's next. The role Kit's product surfaces have grown faster than the systems that keep them consistent. We need someone to close that gap. We're looking for a Senior Design Engineer II to help build and maintain our design system, improve UI quality and consistency across the app, and be the bridge between design and front-end engineering. This role is about building durable systems that raise product-wide quality, reduce rework for every feature squad, decreases time-to-ship, improves our customer journeys, and helps designers experiment with shipping to production. You'll work closely with our front-end engineering team to help lead the development and maintenance of shared foundations such as Storybook, React components, design tokens, and the design-to-code workflow. This is a full-time senior IC role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of design and code, enjoys systems thinking, and is excited to create the foundations that feature teams rely on to ship high-quality UI faster. The work you do will directly shape the experience creators have every time they use Kit Your support system You'll sit within the Product Design team and collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and feature squads across Kit. You'll report to Dan Winer, our Director of Product Design, and partner directly with front-end engineers, product designers, and the feature project leaders who'll rely on the system you build. You'll also work alongside product managers when new features require new or evolved components. What you'll do First Week: Immerse yourself in Kit's product surfaces and current component landscape. Attend Get-To-Know-You (GTKY) meetings with Product Design and Engineering. Get access to Figma, our codebase, and understand the current state of UI consistency challenges. First Month: Audit the current UI for patterns, tokens, and inconsistencies. Present your observations, help establish the token architecture mapped between Figma and code, and start implementing some missing components in React. First Six Months: Establish tokens and primitives mapped between Figma and code in partnership with the front-end engineering team. Lead the development of 5-8 core components at production quality with full documentation (including the navigation component suite with performance targets). Work with designers to define pattern standards and begin providing React hand-offs for new feature work. Measurably improve layout consistency across key surfaces. Help the product design team use AI to experiment with shipping their designs to production — for example, using AI-assisted code generation to turn Figma work into functional components faster First Year: Create a stable, predictable design-to-code workflow that feature squads rely on. Drive high adoption of system components in new feature work with visible consistency improvements across surfaces that previously diverged. Lead the evolution of our component library in Storybook to become the canonical reference for UI behaviour and states. Establish guardrails that prevent UI drift before it starts, so feature squads ship faster with higher-quality UI without needing to check in with you on every decision. What will S.E.T. you up for success Skills Strong visual design craft: typography, layout, spacing, color, and hierarchy Strong React/Typescript fundamentals and component architecture Design token architecture and Figma-to-code mapping Building and maintaining Storybook for component development Deep understanding of interaction design, states, and edge cases The ability to spot and resolve visual and interaction inconsistencies across a product surface — not just in isolation, but in context Performance and accessibility standards Systems thinking and building for scale Clear documentation and pattern guidance Ability to validate technical feasibility early in the design process Experiences 6+ years of relevant experience with meaningful design system work as a significant part of that — building, scaling, and maintaining a design system in production Proven track record retrofitting and modernizing legacy UI systems, migrating inconsistent patterns into cohesive design systems Prior experience working as a designer Portfolio demonstrating effective use of UI design fundamentals Deep experience with composition and presentational component architecture in React Proven track record maintaining Storybook as a canonical UI reference Built and managed design token systems with Figma integration Evidence of successfully bridging design and code in a live product Experience collaborating with product designers and engineering teams Hands-on experience implementing AI tooling to accelerate design-to-code workflows and automate design system consistency checks Traits Takes initiative and demonstrates leadership in ambiguous, cross-functional environments - you can identify what needs to happen next and rally people around a direction without formal authority Systems thinker who builds foundations, not just features Opinionated about design quality with a point of view on what good design looks like Detail-oriented with exceptional craft sensibility for visual and interaction quality Low ego, strong collaborator who bridges design and engineering Comfortable receiving feedback on your work and adjusting direction when the team or constraints call for it — you care more about the system getting better than being right Pragmatic approach to balancing perfection with progress Clear communicator who can articulate tradeoffs and standards, Focused on enabling others and reducing friction for feature teams You document decisions and share what you learn so others can build on your work What won't set you up for success Seeking highly structured environments with predetermined solutions Preferring feature work over foundational system building Discomfort with maintaining existing code and iterating on established patterns Difficulty balancing design intent with technical constraints Needing extensive direction to identify quality and consistency gaps Prioritizing speed over quality and durability of system components Difficulty working across multiple stakeholders without direct authority Working hours and location We're 100% remote with team members across the globe. We work mostly on East Coast time—so if you're based on the West Cost of the United States, Europe, or Asia, you might have a few early mornings or late evenings. We do our best to keep things reasonable, but a little time zone juggling comes with the territory. [Add any specific working hours or timezone requirement] Compensation + perks + benefits Kit has standardized salaries based on position, no matter where you live. For this role, we’re hiring at our level 4 ($186,000). Level is determined based on experience and our interview process. Perks + benefits include: Profit Sharing Kit equity 401k with a 5% match We cover up to $2,100 per month toward medical premiums, with dental and vision premiums fully covered. We offer Health Insurance plans through Aetna $2,000 equipment allowance for your first two years, $1,000 budget every following two years. Company-provided laptops are issued to every Kit team member and are not included in the equipment budget Individual learning + development budget ($3,500/year) Gender affirming benefits Childcare benefit up to $3,000 annually Twenty (20) days of paid time off during each year of employment Paid paid vacation: An after-tax bonus of $1,000 for taking five consecutive days of vacation where you’re fully unplugged from work Ten (10) paid holidays a year Two weeks of paid sick time each year, including mental health + well being days Twelve (12) weeks paid parental leave and flexible scheduling in your child’s first year Up to six weeks of paid bereavement leave, medical leave, and disaster after six months of employment, two weeks of each paid leave in your first six months Winter Break Closure: Kit closes for a week at the end of December, giving everyone a collective break to enjoy the holiday season. Essential support services remain available, with teams coordinating to ensure coverage during this period Four-week, paid sabbatical after five years with the team Fantastic in-person or virtual retreats with the team twice a year How to apply We usually receive a large number of applications, and our goal is to follow up with you within two weeks. You’ll hear from us either way. Here’s what you can expect from the rest of our hiring process: A phone screen with our recruiter Hiring manager interview Take-home assignment A technical interview We’ll keep you informed through every step. To get started, complete this application, including a cover letter and answers to the questions on the next page. We read every single application, and your cover letter and responses help put your experience into context. Kit is an equal opportunity employer We value diversity in all of its forms. Research tells us that applicants who are female or non-binary, as well as applicants who are people of color, are less likely to apply for roles they do not feel 100% qualified for. If you think you meet more than 50% of our requirements but fewer than 100% of them, please apply. We’re imperfect communicators, so think of our job postings as the starting point for discussion rather than proof that you shouldn’t apply. Drive scalable expansion and retention strategies for creator accounts, focusing on growth, engagement, and revenue. | Extensive experience in SaaS customer success, growth, or lifecycle management supporting large customer bases, with a proven track record of creating scalable programs and driving revenue outcomes. The role As Kit continues to scale, we’re evolving how we support and grow our creator base. We’re looking for a Customer Success Manager (Scaled Accounts) — what we and our clients call a Creator Growth Manager (Scaled Accounts) — to to drive Pro plan expansion across our pooled customer segment, which is roughly our top 1,000 largest accounts. This role exists to answer one critical question: What drives a creator to upgrade — and how do we create more repeatable value-added upgrade opportunities at scale?” You’ll focus on identifying, testing, and refining expansion motions for pooled creators, then scaling what works across our broader customer base through close collaboration with Customer Experience, Marketing, and Product. This is not a traditional account management role — it’s a growth-focused, experimental role with clear revenue impact. While expansion is the primary goal of this role, success depends on delivering a strong, scalable customer experience that directly drives retention, plan upgrades, and long-term revenue growth. This role will also own proactive outreach and engagement for pooled creators — ensuring they feel supported, understand how to get value from Kit, and are positioned to grow into Pro through effective email strategy and product adoption. This is a full-time individual contributor role, ideal for someone who enjoys ambiguity, loves turning insights into repeatable systems and programs, and is energized by influencing outcomes beyond their own book of business. Success in this role is measured by the ability to drive meaningful revenue impact at scale, including: Drive expansion revenue through Pro plan adoption and email list growth strategies Revenue retained through effective churn prevention and save motions Conversion of creators from monthly to annual plans Contribution to Net Revenue Retention (NRR) across pooled accounts Your support system You’ll report to Alyssa Dulin, Sr. Manager of Creator Growth and Deliverability, and work closely with: Other Creator Growth Managers focused on high-touch segments Customer Experience & Support leadership Marketing (Lifecycle, Campaigns, Education) Product & Growth partners You’ll be part of the broader Creator Growth team and have strong peer support while owning a highly visible, high-impact area of expansion strategy. What you'll do First Month: Deeply understand Kit’s creator segments, pricing, and expansion paths (Free → Creator → Pro). Analyze existing expansion data and past initiatives to identify early patterns. Learn how pooled accounts are currently supported and where gaps exist. Begin engaging directly with pooled creators through scaled touch points. First Six Months: Design and test multiple scaled expansion plays (e.g. campaigns, in-product prompts, webinars, targeted outreach, education programs). Own expansion performance for the pooled segment, tracking conversion and revenue impact. Partner with Marketing and CX to operationalize successful expansion motions. Clearly document learnings, playbooks, and best practices. Influence roadmap or messaging improvements based on creator feedback. Own proactive, scaled outreach for pooled creators to drive engagement, retention, and readiness for expansion. Help creators improve email strategy, automation usage, and monetization workflows through lightweight guidance, education, and campaigns. Identify churn and disengagement signals, design scalable save motions, and partner with Customer Experience to address systemic retention risks at scale First Year: Establish a proven, repeatable expansion engine for pooled creators. Scale successful expansion strategies across the broader customer base. Become a subject-matter expert on what drives creator monetization growth inside Kit. Directly contribute to Net Revenue Retention and Pro plan growth goals. Elevate CGM as a strategic growth partner across the company What will S.E.T. you up for success Skills Experimentation & measurement: Strong hypothesis discipline, metric selection, and comfort interpreting results using funnel/cohort thinking (even with imperfect data) Segmentation & targeting: Ability to identify “upgrade-ready” cohorts using product/behavior signals and translate that into prioritized, practical targeting. Driving expansion and retention: Proven ability to proactively nurture customer accounts to identify revenue expansion opportunities and ensure successful renewals. Scaled program design: Can design repeatable 1-to-many motions (education, campaigns, in-product prompts, light human touch) that reduce dependence on 1:1 work Cross-functional influence: Effective at developing relationships and driving action across various stakeholder personas and levels. Operational rigor: Document playbooks, build lightweight systems, and turn one-off wins into repeatable programs other teams can run. AI & automation judgment: Use AI and automation to increase speed and throughput while maintaining brand voice, accuracy, and appropriate human review. HubSpot proficiency (bonus): Experience using HubSpot’s CRM and customer success features to operationalize segmentation, lifecycle tracking, reporting, and scaled customer motions. Experiences 4+ years in Customer Success, Account Management, Growth, or Lifecycle at a SaaS company, with ownership of retention and/or expansion outcomes. Scaled/pool ownership: Experience supporting hundreds–thousands of customers via programs, campaigns, and systems (not primarily through 1:1 relationship management). Driving customer outcomes: Proven track-record of helping customers drive sustained product adoption, customer satisfaction, and overall customer health. Revenue ownership: Experience moving a revenue metric (expansion, upgrades, conversion, renewals, NRR/GRR) with clear attribution to your work. 0→1 motion building: Experience creating a new playbook/program from scratch, iterating based on results, and scaling what worked. Partnering across teams: Experience collaborating with Marketing, Product/Growth, and/or CX Ops to operationalize a motion and keep it running. Bonus: Experience serving creators, SMBs, or a self-serve audience where value must be demonstrated quickly and clearly to drive upgrades. Traits Analytical and scrappy: You don’t wait for perfect dashboards—you pull what you need, make a call, and iterate. High-ownership operator: You take responsibility for results end-to-end (idea → build → launch → measure → iterate), and you’re transparent about what didn’t work. Creator/customer empathy with backbone: You respect skepticism, lead with value, but you’re comfortable making an upgrade ask when it’s genuinely the right fit. Systems thinker: You focus on building repeatable motions and leverage, rather than solving the same problem one customer at a time. Low ego, collaborative: You share learnings, document playbooks, and elevate the whole org’s ability to drive expansion. What won't set you up for success Preferring a traditional 1:1 account management model Discomfort working without a fully defined playbook Avoiding data or relying solely on intuition Needing extensive direction and hand-holding rather than taking ownership and running with initiatives Resistance to cross-functional collaboration and feedback Working hours and location We're 100% remote with team members across the globe. We work mostly on East Coast time—so if you're based on the West Cost of the United States, Europe, or Asia, you might have a few early mornings or late evenings. Compensation$181K - 181K a year

Lead the evolution of the extensibility and automation platform including APIs, plugins, and developer tools to empower creators, while modernizing legacy systems and mentoring peers. | Senior full-stack engineer with deep Ruby on Rails and React expertise, leadership experience, ability to deliver well-tested, maintainable code, and strong communication skills. The role We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to lead the evolution of our extensibility and automation platform that powers how creators customize Kit to their unique needs. You'll be joining the Ecosystem team, which owns the Kit App Store, developer platform (APIs, plugins, webhooks, OAuth), and automation suite that enables creators to build sophisticated, automated marketing systems. We're a newly forming team tackling both legacy modernization and greenfield opportunities, so your enthusiasm for building resilient teams and transforming brown-field systems into elegant solutions is essential. You're a full-stack, product-minded engineer with deep expertise in Ruby on Rails and React, not content with just shipping features but playing the long game. You see our developer platform not as a technical requirement but as the foundation that empowers thousands of creators to extend Kit in ways we haven't imagined. You combine technical depth with leadership and extreme ownership, partnering closely with Product and Design to shape both the "what" and the "how". You thrive in ambiguity, take initiative without waiting for permission, and elevate everyone around you through your generosity and optimism. Most importantly, you understand that great developer experiences create compounding value: when we make it easier for others to build on Kit, we accelerate the entire creator ecosystem. Your support system You'll report to the Engineering Manager who leads the Ecosystem team, a cross-functional product team at Kit. You'll collaborate closely with a Product Manager, Product Designer, and peer Software Engineers. You’ll also have access to a group of Engineers across Kit for support and mentorship, and will start with a peer onboarding buddy who will help you navigate our systems and codebase. What you'll do • First Week: Dive into our codebase and extensibility and automation architecture. Set up your local environment and merge your first production code. Take part in Get To Know You's to meet our distributed team. • First Month: Work through your personal onboarding plan. Begin understanding how Kit App Store supports creators from small to large, and identify opportunities for improvement. Join team activities for planning, building, and measuring the experiences we ship to creators. Actively participate in code reviews, and contribute PRs weekly. • First Six Months: Lead and architect at least one major feature from ambiguous idea to launch. Transform our legacy codebase through strategic refactoring while applying systems thinking to enhance scalability and maintainability. Drive adoption of patterns and conventions that elevate team-wide technical standards. Ensure service reliability by participating in on-call rotations. Present at least one Lunch & Learn session. Actively mentor peers, and champion quality across our codebase. What will S.E.T. you up for success Skills • Deep expertise developing full-stack web applications using both Ruby on Rails and React, with a track record of owning features end to end • Ability to write high-quality, well-tested, performant, and accessible code that balances speed of delivery with long term maintainability with minimal guidance • Support strategic product decisions by anticipating business needs and translating them into technical solutions • Communicate highly effectively across Engineering, Product, and Design to maintain alignment and momentum across complex initiatives • Champion technical health through proactive monitoring, creating dashboards and alerting systems that identify issues early and drive systematic improvements • Ability to lead without authority, aligning teams on goals, trade-offs, and success criteria Experiences • Led major cross-team initiatives from ambiguous requirements to successful delivery with measurable business impact • Modernized and improved existing systems through hands-on brown-field development • Made data-driven decisions throughout the product development lifecycle • Worked transparently by sharing progress, learnings, and seeking feedback early and often • Delivered features that directly impacted customer success and business goals Traits • Model continuous growth while developing others through mentorship, code reviews, and deliberate knowledge sharing • Balance pragmatism with strategic thinking, creating clarity and momentum for teams in uncertainty • Champion creative execution by breaking down complex challenges into achievable steps others want to follow • Pioneer AI adoption strategies that thoughtfully balance experimentation with practical team enablement • Act as a force multiplier by building systems, tools, and knowledge-sharing practices that make the entire team more effective • Shape and champion solutions that deeply align with user needs, balancing technical excellence with product impact Nice to haves You will stand out if you have: • Designed and scaled frameworks used by developers, like RESTful API platforms with versioning or OAuth app scopes • Established thought leadership through conference talks, technical blogs, or significant OSS contributions • Built successful products or partnerships within the creator economy ecosystem What won't set you up for success • Struggling to operate in evolving problem spaces without established processes or guardrails • Preferring to work solo or stay purely technical • Needing full consensus or permission before moving forward • Uncomfortable with direct feedback culture (both giving and receiving) • Prioritizing technical perfection over pragmatic business solutions Working hours and location We're 100% remote with team members across the globe. We work mostly on East Coast time—so if you're based on the West Cost of the United States, Europe, or Asia, you might have a few early mornings or late evenings. We do our best to keep things reasonable, but a little time zone juggling comes with the territory. Compensation + perk + benefits Kit has standardized salaries based on position, no matter where you live. For this role, we’re hiring at our level P4 ($181,000/year). Essential support services remain available, with teams coordinating to ensure coverage during this period • Four-week, paid sabbatical after five years with the team • Fantastic in-person or virtual retreats with the team twice a year How to apply We know that most people hate interviewing (we relate!). We aim to make it as good of an experience as we can, and part of that includes keeping you informed during the process. Here’s what you can expect from the process: • A phone screen with our recruiter • Hiring manager interview • Work sample • A technical interview • Technical execution and leadership interview We’ll keep you informed through every step. To get started, complete this application, including a cover letter and answers to the questions on the next page. We work mostly on East Coast time—so if you're based on the West Cost of the United States, Europe, or Asia, you might have a few early mornings or late evenings. We do our best to keep things reasonable, but a little time zone juggling comes with the territory. Kit does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, age, national origin, marital status, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other reason prohibited by law in provision of employment opportunities and benefits.
