As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of Kin’s data assets. You’ll be responsible for building out a data lakehouse for enterprise reporting, which will involve the design and development of production-ready data pipelines, modeling raw data for downstream reporting, and quality assurance of the data warehouse. What You’ll Do You’ll work on a cross-functional project team with members from AppEng, DataEng, BI, and Kin’s business to design solutions for effective reporting. You’ll implement data validation standards and QA procedures to ensure effective data lifecycle and management practices. This involves: Designing and developing scalable data pipelines and models for downstream analytics and reporting Leading and collaborating with a cross-functional project team to implement data validation, QA standards, and effective data lifecycle management Optimizing pipeline performance, cost, and data quality in a large-scale data environment Migrating data warehouse (DBT, Redshift) architecture to Lakehouse (e.g: S3, Glue, Databricks, Unity catalog) architecture Mentoring data engineers and promoting best practices in software engineering, documentation, and metadata management Ensuring data security and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, GLBA) through robust pipeline design and access monitoring Translating ambiguous business requirements into technical solutions using marketing domain knowledge The skills to succeed 4+ years of hands-on data engineering experience related to: Data structures and cloud platform environments and best practices (AWS strongly preferred, Azure, or GCP) ETL performance tuning and cost optimization Data lake and lakehouse patterns including open table formats (e.g. Iceberg, Hudi, Delta) Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, etc.) and SQL for advanced data processing and querying Expertise in distributed data processing/storage (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, or similar) Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely Detail-oriented with strong data intuition and a passion for data quality Proven ability to model data and build production-ready ETL pipelines handling TBs of data. This role is designed for someone whose core analytical responsibilities have become second nature—and who is ready to form opinions, share ideas, and influence how pricing decisions are made. You’ll develop and maintain pricing models, analyze profitability and risk drivers, and partner closely with underwriting and product teams on rate filings and model enhancements. The opportunity We’re looking for a Product Manager to help us improve how insurance documents and forms are created, managed, and delivered across Kin. This role sits at the center of our Documents & Forms platform, partnering closely with a dedicated engineering team, design, insurance stakeholders, forms analysts, and customer support to ensure our documentation is accurate, scalable, and easy to maintain. As Kin grows, the ability to update and customize policy documents efficiently becomes increasingly critical—for both customer experience and internal operations. In this role, you’ll own the platform where documents and forms live, define how those forms are updated, and shape how they’re customized for individual customers and policies. Your work will directly reduce friction for internal teams, enable faster updates, and help deliver clearer, more consistent experiences for our customers. We are looking for an Executive Assistant who will be a true force multiplier for both the CEO and the executive team. This is not just about scheduling meetings and booking travel. This role is about creating leverage, making sure the CEO is focused on the highest-impact work, and enabling the Chief of Staff to scale leadership priorities across the company. The right person will thrive in a fast-paced environment, know how to operate with judgment and discretion, and take pride in making complex operations look simple. You’ll be embedded in the center of our executive team’s workflow and will play a key role in ensuring the company runs smoothly at the top. This role is based in Chicago with an expectation of 2–3 days a week in the office. Core Capabilities Organizer: Keeps operations tight, with systems and processes that prevent things from slipping through the cracks. Problem-Solver: Anticipates challenges and resolves them before they escalate. Communicator: Clear, crisp, and professional in both written and verbal communication. Able to represent leadership effectively. Trusted Partner: Handles confidential matters with discretion, maturity, and sound judgment. Tech-Savvy: Highly proficient in Google Workspace, Slack, Navan, and willing to adopt productivity tools like ChatGPT/Claude to increase leverage. What You’ll Own Calendar & Scheduling Fully own and optimize the CEO’s calendar. Anticipate and resolve conflicts before they become issues. Protect time so priorities, not noise, drive the agenda. Communication & Coordination Serve as the first line of triage for inbound requests to the CEO, Chief of Staff, and executive team as a whole. Ensure timely and accurate communication with internal leaders, external partners, board members, and investors. Draft and polish communications when needed. Meetings & Travel Prepare agendas and ensure pre-read materials are distributed. Capture notes, track action items, and track outcomes/completion. Manage all travel logistics end-to-end for the executive team. Effectively manage logistics for in-person board and investor meetings. Project & Task Management Track and follow through on key deliverables across the executive team. Partner with the Chief of Staff to keep executive operating rhythms (executive meetings, board prep, all-hands) running smoothly. Spot where processes can be tightened and improve them. Confidentiality & Discretion Handle sensitive information, conversations, and decisions with the highest level of professionalism. What Success Looks Like Within the first 6–12 months, success in this role means: The CEO’s calendar consistently reflects strategic priorities The Chief of Staff is spending the majority of their time on strategic projects, not chasing follow-ups Board meetings, leadership meetings, and external engagements are well-prepared, seamless, and productive Action items don’t get lost; follow-through is consistent Executives and staff alike feel the benefit of clarity, focus, and efficiency Executives feel appropriately supported with calendars, travel, and deliverables What We’re Looking For 7+ years of experience supporting a CEO and/or senior executives Strong organizational systems; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with calm focus Sound judgment on when to escalate, handle directly, or decline Clear, confident communicator with executives, board members, and investors Skilled with Google Workspace, Slack, video conferencing platforms, and travel/expense systems (Airbase, Navan); interest in using AI tools to drive productivity Professional, calm under pressure, and trusted with confidential matters Able to work seamlessly across functions, build strong relationships, and add value in every interaction Results-oriented, delivers in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable navigating ambiguity Oh, and don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!
