Provide comprehensive litigation support including managing legal documents, conducting eDiscovery, and assisting attorneys during trials. | At least 5 years paralegal experience in California personal injury or construction defect law, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with PACER and CM/ECF. | Description The Paralegal will be responsible for working with attorneys and other departments and/or staff as assigned to provide support through all aspects of litigation in a variety of practice areas. Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of an attorney, coordinate, organize, prepare, and interpret complex legal documents. Coordinate with attorneys and paralegal Is to direct workflow on various cases. Review, and maintain documents and case files; compile documents for filing with courts and relevant agencies. Conduct electronic document reviews, coordinate productions of documents with attorneys, conduct searches of production databases for relevant documents, and conduct other related eDiscovery tasks. Assist with drafting discovery, pleadings, and status reports. Organize and conduct case-related team meetings as needed. Review and draft summaries of discovery responses, document productions, and relevant records. Assist with preparation and review of materials for court hearings and depositions. Attend client meetings, conference calls, and other case related meetings with attorneys. Conduct legal research and document review; perform factual research in internal and external databases and libraries. Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy. Coordinate and prepare for trials; attend trials if necessary and provide support to attorneys at court and agency hearings. Accurately document and bill for all billable work and tasks according to billing procedures; meet annual billable hours requirement. Communicate and interact with filing clerks, court room assistants and calendar clerks. Liaise with outside vendors such as court reporters, experts, mediators, etc. Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience preferred, working as a paralegal, preferably with a focus on personal injury or construction defect cases in the State of California. Experience preparing for and assisting with trials. Familiarity with online databases and resources. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism in client and colleague interactions. Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and file management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Knowledge of third-party e-fling providers, including but not limited to One Legal, First Legal, Odyssey File & Serve, and Green Filing, a plus. Knowledge of PACER and the federal Judiciary’s Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system, a plus. Maintain organized electronic filing systems and handle legal document retrieval and submission in courts, supporting calendar coordination. | High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred; at least one year civil litigation filing experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office and court docket systems preferred. | Description The Legal File Clerk will support the firm’s legal teams by maintaining organized, efficient, and secure filing in the electronic platforms. The position will also include retrieving pleadings from court dockets, assisting with electronic filings in state and federal courts, and providing backup and overflow support to the Calendar Coordinator. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain filing systems and evaluate documents for proper categorization and storage Sort, classify, and file records, legal documents, and correspondence using established naming conventions and folder structures OCR, rename, and save all incoming documents in accordance with firm protocols Retrieve pleadings, motions, and filings from federal and state court systems (e.g., PACER and state e-filing platforms) and distribute to case teams Assist with e-filing legal documents in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional rules and deadlines Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper formatting prior to filing or distribution Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with firm policies and applicable regulations Provide backup and overflow support to the Calendar Coordinator, including entering deadlines, tracking court dates, and maintaining docket accuracy Identify opportunities to improve filing systems and workflows; design and implement forms, templates, and organizational tools as needed Update and maintain filing systems; recommend and implement enhancements to document storage and retrieval processes Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred 1+ years’ experience in a law firm handling civil litigation court filings Familiarity with court docket systems (e.g., PACER, state court portals) and e-filing procedures is a plus Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
