The division supplies stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies that leverage our deep-draw stamping technologies. The annual revenue for the division is approximately $174M. Position Summary The position will be responsible for new product development and proliferating current products. The position will involve direct communication with the customer to identify the unique needs of the opportunity. This role requires product development expertise, design capabilities utilizing software, understanding of data analysis tools, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects working with several stakeholders. At times, this individual may be required to directly interface with the customer to support the application team and/or a specific project. Primary Responsibilites • Lead new product development and application engineering projects from opportunity identification through launch, using a customer-back approach. • Serve as a primary technical interface for customers, sales, and internal teams; act as a trusted engineering advisor to OEMs and Tier suppliers. • Translate customer needs, pain points, and market trends into feasible, profitable engineering solutions, leveraging existing products or developing new designs. • Own technical project execution, including concept development, CAD design, analysis (FEA/DOE as applicable), prototyping, validation, and launch support. • Lead assigned projects through APQP phases (P0–P2), ensuring technical rigor, documentation accuracy, and on-time delivery. • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, program management, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and global engineering teams to ensure successful commercialization. • Develop and support business cases, including risk assessments, value propositions, and component costing. • Support product proliferation, engineering changes, and post-launch improvements to drive customer satisfaction and long-term growth. • Benchmark competitive products and apply innovative, differentiated solutions aligned with ITW innovation processes and toolbox principles. • Coordinate with internal and external suppliers (prototyping, stamping, heat treat, coatings, etc.) throughout development. • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, design reviews, and training for customers and internal stakeholders. • Represent engineering at customer meetings, technical sales visits, and industry events as needed.
