Provide technical leadership for complex software systems, designing architectures to DoD standards and directing task personnel. | Requires 10+ years in systems engineering and software development, an active Secret clearance, and proficiency in business intelligence, data modeling, and ICAM. | ITility is seeking a highly specialized Lead Software Systems Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency. You will provide top-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis. This is a remote position with occasional travel. Identifies, assesses, and presents options for meeting the functional and technical requirements including hardware and software updates or upgrades.  * Formulates and defines specifications for operating system applications or modifies and maintains existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer.  * Interacts with project management to plan project schedules and technical direction.  * Responsible for developing high level system design diagrams and for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation. Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other task personnel.  * Responsible for quality assurance review and the evaluation of existing and new software products.  * Provides overall operating system maintenance, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, large telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical/scientific software packages.  * Assists all phases of software systems programming applications. Evaluates new and existing software products. This person analyzes, designs, modifies and tests software and system components, and keeps the environment stable, secure and current. * Analyze system requirements and design changes to existing applications and components * Modify, build, test and deploy software fixes and enhancements * Troubleshoot complex system and performance issues across application, database and infrastructure layers * Support security patching, vulnerability remediation and technology refresh * Produce and maintain technical documentation and design records Required Qualifications: * Active Secret Clearance  * Eight (8) years of experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology) * IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive designation or Tier 3 (T3) investigation, in place at proposal submission * Available to start on 4 January 2027 and willing to sign a Letter of Commitment Preferred Qualifications * Experience engineering DLA or other DoD enterprise systems * Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems Work Environment: * Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform computer-based work using standard office equipment.  * Requires frequent verbal communication, active listening, and visual acuity to perform job responsibilities effectively. * Must follow site-specific safety, security, and dress standards.
