Manage small to medium IT projects through their lifecycle, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective stakeholder communication. | Requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of project management experience, and a CAPM certification; experience with IT projects and proficiency in MS Office and MS Project are preferred. | JOB SUMMARY The Project Manager, Associate II is responsible for the management of small to medium sized Information Technology projects authorized by the organization. Oversees the entire project lifecycle, from project initiation through project closure. Provides the detailed project management discipline required to maximize performance on individual projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manages Information Technology projects as assigned using the ITC PMO methodology. With guidance, leads project initiation and planning processes; includes scope validation, the completion of requirements gathering and defining a solution Requires the ability to understand the business sufficiently to communicate the importance of projects to the technology teams, as well as to understand the technology sufficiently to communicate the complexity of projects to the business With guidance, manages day-to-day project operations, creation of project deliverables, project accounting and reporting and coordination with all internal and external stakeholders With guidance, manages project risks and issues and works to resolve any that may arise. Communicates project status, issues, risks and tasks to project team and stakeholders in an effective and appropriate manner Builds and manages relationships with internal and vendor technology teams Gains knowledge of and understands the requirements of project requestors Works to build a strong alignment between IT and the business Learns to utilize good judgment in making project management decision Learns to provide leadership for cross-functional project teams With guidance, identifies project resource requirements, project plans and project schedules. Ensures all company policies and methods are followed. Ensures that project documents are complete, current and saved appropriately. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related technical area; or Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years within an Information Technology environment or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Project Management. Previous project management experience a plus. At a minimum, a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) is required. Ability to work with functional management groups and executives directly. Must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must possess the ability to write clear, comprehensive business documents. Must be able to communicate effectively Able to work on a few small projects simultaneously. Ability to pay attention to detail and display a sense of urgency. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and Microsoft Project. Experience with PPM systems a plus. Good analytical skills. Manage multiple electric utility construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives. | Requires a degree in engineering or equivalent experience in electric utility project management, with familiarity in scheduling software and utility construction processes. | ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manages multiple concurrent transmission electric system capital improvement projects; manages each project from project initiation through project completion. Responsible for assembling a cross-functional project team for each high-priority project and coordinating the efforts of those project teams. For high-priority projects, leads the project teams to successfully complete projects and meet project objectives on time, within scope and within authorized budget. For high-priority projects, facilitates development of a detailed baseline project schedule to identify the critical path and important milestones. Updates construction dates for assigned projects in the project schedule each month. For high-priority projects, monitors progress towards the schedule by all groups. For high-priority projects, identifies at-risk activities and heads-off schedule delays by addressing issues before they lead to project delays. Facilitates various project meetings (status, coordination, scheduling, lessons learned, etc.), as required, with the project team and stakeholders. Acts as escalation point for project issues, risks and change requests. Manages and resolves any project issues and escalates any concerns to the appropriate level of leadership. Monitors and controls project costs through preparation of monthly cash flow projections, comparison of actual and committed costs to estimated costs and identification of cost variances which require further action to assure project costs do not exceed authorized amounts. Reviews construction contractor quotes and issues a PO requisition to engage a construction contractor for each project. Reviews and approves construction contractor change orders and invoices. Communicates project status, issues and risks to leadership and stakeholders in an effective and timely manner. Works well with personnel from all areas of the company to ensure performance of project objectives. All other duties as assigned. OR Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in project and/or construction management in electric utility construction. Transmission electric system capital project experience strongly preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred Familiarity with creating a project schedule. Experience in creating a project schedule using Primavera, Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software application preferred. Some experience with identifying alternative solutions and in performing risk assessments. Some experience in coordinating and negotiating with outside vendors or third parties to ensure project deadlines are met. Familiarity with electric utility construction processes preferred. Familiarity with electric substation and line equipment preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications Familiarity using Primavera, Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software applications.
