We're recruiting a BD leader for a fast-growing space communications company delivering flight-qualified radio communications systems for satellites and space vehicles. Their products are commercially available, shipping, and already flying in orbit, with multiple launches planned across 2026. They already support some of the most ambitious new space programs in the market, working with satellite manufacturers, spacecraft integrators, and launch-adjacent partners who value speed, reliability, and deep technical credibility. As the company scales, they're now building dedicated leadership across Commercial Space. As the Director / Senior Director of Business Development, you'll lead the Commercial Space sales efforts. This is a senior individual-contributor role with a clear path to building and leading a commercial sales team. You’ll own key customer relationships, drive new business across emerging and funded space companies, and help define how commercial space sales is done at the company. What You’ll Be Doing • Own and grow commercial revenue across satellite manufacturers and space system integrators • Manage and expand strategic customer accounts, including follow-on and volume purchase agreements • Drive outbound business development with new and emerging space companies planning first or future missions • Partner closely with Sales Engineers to develop proposals and technical solutions • Build long-term relationships across the commercial space ecosystem • Help shape the foundation for a future commercial sales team as revenue scales What We’re Looking For • Proven experience selling into the commercial space ecosystem (satellite manufacturers, new space companies, space hardware/software providers) • Strong outbound sales capability - you’re comfortable hunting, not just handling inbound leads • Experience selling hardware, software, or combined HW/SW systems • Ability to operate in fast-moving, high-growth environments • RF, radio, or communications experience is a bonus, not a requirement Location & Travel • Need to based in the following: Southern California or Denver, CO • Open to relocation for the right candidate Compensation • Target OTE: ~$300-400k (flexible based on experience and seniority) Why Join? • Proven, flight-qualified product already generating commercial revenue • High-visibility role with ownership of commercial growth • Direct access to leadership and influence over go-to-market strategy • Opportunity to build and lead a commercial sales team as the company scales • Well-funded business with flexibility to invest in the right people If you’re commercially minded, experienced selling in the space sector, and excited about helping shape the next phase of growth in commercial space communications, I’d love to speak with you.
