The Coding Charge Analyst assigns Emergency Department CPT codes through the charge process according to established regulatory guidelines and industry best practices. This role ensures compliance with IH policies and procedures. | Candidates must demonstrate written and interpersonal communication skills and have knowledge of medical terminology and coding conventions. An associate degree and coding experience are desired, along with relevant certifications. | Overview Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrates written, interpersonal, or communication skills as appropriate to position Knowledge of medical terminology and coding conventions (ICD10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS) Computer proficiency, ability to research coding questions and utilize educational resources required Independent, focused individual with ability to work remotely Desired Qualifications: Associate degree Coding experience Infusion and Injection Charging experience Licensure, Registration, Certification: Credentialed as one of the following: Certified Outpatient Coder (COC, COC-A) Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) Certified Professional Coder (CPC, CPC-A) Registered Health Info Technician (RHIT) Registered Health Info Administrator (RHIA) Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Certified Coding Associate (CCA) Responsibilities Assigns Emergency Department CPT codes through the charge process according to established regulatory guidelines, industry best practices, and IH policies and procedures.
Assists in the continuity of patient care delivery within an assigned area by providing direct personal care and rehabilitative measures. Provides supportive services to enhance patient care. | Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program is required, or equivalent work history in a patient care environment. Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant is desired. | Overview Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Successful completion of one of the following: Nursing Assistant Program Medical Assistant Program Equivalent work history in a patient care environment Rotation with total patient care at Nursing School Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS - American Heart Association In designated areas, Certified Nursing Assistant is required Desired Qualifications: Working knowledge of Nursing Assistant function Certified Nursing Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant Responsibilities Assists in the continuity of patient care delivery within an assigned area by providing direct personal care, rehabilitative measures, and supportive services.
