As a National Account Manager - NEW Business Deveopment expert, you will drive revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, cultivating long-term strategic relationships, and delivering tailored, transportation solutions. This role requires a deep industry knowledge and experience selling expedited shipping and freight forwarding, domestic and international. • Lead new business development efforts and expand Imperative Expedites market presence. • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers at existing and prospective client organizations. • Research, qualify, and develop sales leads using various sources including industry events, directories, digital tools, and referrals. • Engage with sales leads provided by the Corporate Sales Office and global partners, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion strategies. • Conduct in-person and virtual meetings, including travel to present Imperative Expedites value proposition. • Deliver compelling, client-focused presentations that showcase our logistics solutions, operational capabilities, and service advantages. • Oversee onboarding and implementation of new clients, ensuring smooth transition and long-term satisfaction. • Coordinate customer training and manage ongoing client support in collaboration with operations and account management teams. • Develop customer-specific SOPs and pricing strategies that support service excellence and operational consistency. • Support CRM data integrity by maintaining accurate records of customer activity, pipeline updates, and touchpoints. • Serve as a strategic partner to both internal teams and clients, leveraging your experience to support company-wide growth efforts. • Lead by example—providing mentorship and guidance to junior sales team members when appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 5 years of experience in expedited shipping sales, with a strong understanding of: Air Express: Time-definite delivery options including Same Day, Next Flight Out (NFO), Next Day Air, and Second Day Air Economy across the U.S. and International locations. Expedited Ground Transportation: Fast, flexible ground shipping solutions. Air Charter Services: On-demand aircraft for urgent deliveries. Value-Added Services: Includes rollout distributions, on-board couriers, liftgate services, inside delivery, and warehousing. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Proven success in managing sales territories, negotiating large deals, and delivering complex presentations. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically. In-depth knowledge of expedited logistics operations, pricing models, and customer service excellence. Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting systems. Must be comfortable with traveling regularly to customers, potential customers, meetings, and other as needed. Preferred experience: selling expedited freight, shipping, freight forwarding in key verticals including Healthcare, Biotech, Life Sciences, Aerospace, Advanced Manufacturing, Technology, Specialty Automotive, and Specialty Chemicals. Preferred Locations: Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Minneapolis. COMPENSATION $100,000-$120,000 Base, plus commissions. This is a commission driven sales and business development job. We consider a variety of factors in determining base compensation including but not limited to, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, market data and geography.
