This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations. The Senior Business Analyst - Service Now will report directly to the Senior Manager – Business Process Management and will primarily focus on ServiceNow development initiatives. Core responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing business requirements, translating them into functional specifications for ServiceNow solutions, and documenting as-is and to-be workflows within the platform. The role will also involve defining project scope and objectives, collaborating with developers to design and configure solutions that align with business strategies, and coordinating user acceptance testing within ServiceNow. The ideal candidate will be adept at asking probing questions to uncover true business needs and skilled at explaining technical concepts in clear, business-friendly terms. Essential functions include: • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document and analyze technical and functional requirements for the purpose of solution design, selection and/or process improvement recommendations. • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications • Evaluate business processes to identify and report on opportunities for improvement. • Lead small to medium size projects. This will include coordination of all project communication to stakeholders and internal IT team members. • Lead daily stand ups serving as a scrum master and coordinate sprint tasks in a Agile planning tool such as ADO or Planner. • Serve as a lead and mentor for peers in IT to educate best practices for federated business analyst roles. • Learning or expanding knowledge of legal practice specific processes and procedures. • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members, management, and firm clients. • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies. • Stay current with IT advancements, best practices, updates, and new features to continuously improve design recommendations, automate manual processes (when appropriate) and modernize systems. • Work with the project team and stakeholders to define and document project scope, objectives, risks, tasks, deliverables and resource needs. • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions • Maintain user confidence and project operations by keeping information confidential • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends • Produce detailed status and recommendation reports for review and digestion by all levels of stakeholders throughout the organization. • Interpret, evaluate and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making • Conducting feasibility reviews and analysis to include cost-benefit analysis and reporting on the same. • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes • Participates in user acceptance testing and validation of designed solutions. • Other duties as coordinated or assigned. Service Now Focus: Responsibilities will primarily focus on ServiceNow development initiatives including gathering and analyzing business requirements, translating them into functional specifications for ServiceNow solutions, and documenting as-is and to-be workflows within the platform. • Design ServiceNow modules, workflows, forms, reports, and dashboards to support ITSM, HRSD, SPM, App Engine and other business processes. • Facilitate meetings, trainings and presentations to gather requirements and relay recommendations to all levels of stakeholders throughout the organization. • Stay current with ServiceNow best practices, updates, and new features to continuously improve design recommendations, automate manual processes (when appropriate) and modernize systems. Position Requirements • 4-year degree with major course work in related field; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required. • Trade training preferred; A minimum of 5 years’ experience in business analysis or a related field required. • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions. • Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing • Advanced technical skills. • Excellent documentation skills. • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills. • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations. • Competency in Microsoft applications including Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills. • A history of leading and supporting successful projects • Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills • Ability to work independently with little or no assistance, and to make decisions and recommendations to upper management. The Data Science Team at Husch Blackwell delivers solutions to legal and operational problems using a wide range of mathematical and computational methods. Our projects are highly collaborative and often executed on tight timelines. The Senior Manager - Data Science and AI is responsible for developing and deploying the firm’s capabilities and assets for data science and AI. This position leads a team of Data Scientists, ensuring the team delivers strategic and business value while fostering a productive and humane environment that supports team engagement, professional growth, and collaboration. The Senior Manager will partner with the firm’s Principal Data Scientist to ensure that projects are staffed and executed most appropriately and will be responsible for delivering and demonstrating business value from DS and AI projects.
