Role Summary As an Email & SMS Marketing Strategist, you will own lifecycle marketing for a portfolio of ecommerce brands, driving measurable revenue and retention. Strategy & Planning • Develop monthly email & SMS marketing calendars aligned to client goals, product launches, promotions, and seasonal opportunities. • Define segmentation strategies, testing plans, and creative direction for campaigns and automated flows (welcome, abandonment, post-purchase, replenishment, loyalty, winback). • Maintain and update lifecycle marketing roadmaps; ensure timelines, owners, and tasks are accurate and prioritized. • Partner with Account Strategists to ensure lifecycle channels integrate with broader marketing initiatives. 2. Execution & QA • Build, schedule, and launch email and SMS campaigns within ESP/SMS platforms (Klaviyo, Attentive, Mailchimp, etc.). • Architect and maintain automated workflows, including trigger setup, frequency management, and content refreshes. • Conduct thorough QA for all sends (tracking, rendering, compliance, accessibility, and brand consistency). • Provide clear direction and feedback to Designers and Copywriters to optimize creative performance. 3. Analysis & Optimization • Monitor performance metrics daily/weekly and synthesize actionable insights. • Deliver monthly reporting decks with analysis, trends, and forward-looking recommendations. • Design and run structured A/B and multivariate tests (subject lines, creative, send time, segmentation) and apply learnings to ongoing strategy. • Manage list health and deliverability: monitor inbox placement, sunsetting policies, suppression, and consent preferences. 4. Collaboration & Process • Partner with cross-functional teams to align lifecycle campaigns with full-funnel marketing efforts. • Participate in weekly backlog and status reviews; surface risks and unblock work early. • Document processes, SOPs, and testing learnings for continuous improvement. 5. Compliance & Data Management • Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, TCPA, GDPR, and CCPA requirements. • Oversee data hygiene and integrity across ESP/SMS platforms and integrations (e.g., Shopify). • Manage preference centers, opt-in/opt-out flows, and subscriber segmentation rules.
