Manage inventory levels, operate warehouse machinery, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate team tasks. | Six months of related experience, ability to operate a PIT, physical strength, basic computer skills, and safety awareness. | SUMMARY The Warehouse Inventory Lead has the primary responsibility of increasing and supporting company profitability by maintaining accurate inventory levels. The individual in this role is responsible for the smooth flow of incoming and outgoing product transport products and maintains accurate records of all activity in the warehouse. This role will also assist supervisors in daily department task management ensuring team duties are performed in a manner that meets company quality and safety standards. The individual in this position will frequently need to drive a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and physically transport products. Moderate to heavy physical labor such as transporting heavy items is required on a regular basis. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function. • Develops and implements procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present. • Identifies and optimizes common inventory items. • Investigates inventory shortages and discrepancies. • Instructs others on how and where to return defective goods. • Trains other employees in cycle counting and inventory control. • Ensure that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner. • Audits the facility’s entire inventory on a regular basis and provides reports to management. • Assist in coordinating daily responsibilities of team members to ensure shipping/receiving/processing of inventory needs are met. • Prepare and distribute assignments to team members. • Safely use powered industrial trucks and other machinery to efficiently transport materials and products. Safely and efficiently load and unload trailers, shelves, racks, and pallets. • Use the company’s warehouse management system (WMS) to accurately record movement of materials and products. • Accurately inventory materials and products. • Weigh materials and products and record weight on tags, labels, and production schedules. • Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area, machines, and equipment. • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness. • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance. • Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards. Ensure that team members follow company policy and maintain a safe work environment by encouraging safe practices and promptly resolving violations. • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications: • Six months related experience, or a satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties. • Must be able to obtain a PIT (powered industrial truck) operator license through Highline Warren. PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the Essential Functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Remain in a stationary position while loading and unloading products in various areas of the warehouse. • Lifting products weighing up to fifty-five (55) pounds when unloading trucks. • Use force between twenty-five (25) and forty (40) pounds when using pallet jacks to manipulate product. • Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching. • Repetitive grasping and twisting with hands. • Walking and/or standing up to 10 hours per day, 6 days per week if applicable. • Ascend/descend when getting in/out of fork truck and using ladders to access high shelves to put labels away and/or rearrange product. • Position oneself to retrieve products or materials from ground level. • Reach overhead frequently to process inventory up to forth (40) pounds while performing specific tasks. • Operate, position, and use a wide variety of hand tools and equipment, including Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT’s). • Must be able to move about in a warehouse and manufacturing facility to observe and effectively communicate with team members and perform job duties. • Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels and can exchange detailed information. ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS The environmental conditions described here are representative of those the associate encounters while performing the Essential Functions of the job. • The individual will be expected to work in a warehouse environment, which may include being exposed to work in high/precarious places, moving machinery, marked changes in temperature and humidity, and dust, odors and fumes. This position supports cross-functional teams by providing expert guidance on product hazard communication, product labeling, while proactively managing compliance risks and facilitating market access.
