Location Arlington, Virginia (Rosslyn HQ)  Position Summary Hanwha Defense USA seeks an energetic and experienced Senior Communications Manager to execute media campaigns across the defense ecosystem. Oversee and coordinate defense programs and develop business opportunities in the combat vehicle market. | Requires 15+ years in business development or program management, experience with defense industry, and ability to interpret technical specifications. | Position Overview This position has two-fold characteristics as has been required at HDUSA thus far.   The Deputy Program Manager is responsible for the oversight, coordination and execution of the various HDUSA programs, products and strategic initiatives. In addition, the Senior Manager, Program Management manages the career development, growth, training needs and execution of junior Program Management team members.   The Senior Manager, Business Development will identify opportunities in the combat vehicle market for HDUSA (Hanwha Defense USA). This position will establish appropriate strategies and milestones aligned with the organization’s long-term growth and objectives. This position also requires understanding customer’s desires and values to develop business opportunities. In addition, this position carries on accumulating market intelligence, technical trends, and industrial changes. Finally, it is necessary to explore a new partnership and M&A to capture the right business opportunities.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    Deputy Program Manager * Coordinates the operation of departments to confirm that assigned programs are completed according to specifications, budgets, and timelines.  * Takes proactive steps to minimize delays in delivery.  * Regularly communicates with customers/clients to arrange meetings, confirm program schedules, and discuss any program problems.  * Ensures that customers and/or clients are regularly informed of the status of the program.  * Regularly communicates with management regarding the program’s status and any problems or potential problems.  * Forecasts potential schedule delays and develops alternate plans.  * May evaluate and review design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. * Controls expenditures within limitations of program budget. * Maintain timing chart. * Prepares progress program reports and updates to management on a timely basis. * Responsible for customer presentations and interface. * Performs other related duties as assigned * Directs integration of technical activities and products. * All other duties as assigned Senior Manager, Business Development * Develop and execute strategic plans for the pursuit and successful winning of key opportunities  * Consistent interface at all levels of management including external suppliers, clients, and competitors  * Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and develop marketing strategies * Attending the combat vehicle conference and exhibition to study the latest technologies and business opportunities * Coordinate with Hanwha Defense Engineering team to support the business development activities * Keep the leadership team informed of product development opportunities and strategies * Ensures further development, tracking of strategic initiatives/projects. * Evaluates potential M&A opportunities and supports respective projects. * All other duties as assigned   Qualifications/ Experience                                         * Equivalent to Minimum of 15 years of relevant Business Development experiences  * Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders within defense community  * Direct and support new business development opportunities to improve the company’s business portfolio to include marketing and customer call plans  * Experience with US DoD acquisition process  * Experience building and maintaining relationships * (Must be able to obtain a secret level security clarence)   Education  * Prefer Master’s degree and/or engineering degree/equivalent background * Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field   Special Knowledge / Skills:  * Has the ability to interpret technical specifications and/or requirements * Excellent business acumen * Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)  * Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with ability to independently use Microsoft Office Programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Ability to work harmoniously in a multi-cultural team environment. * Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data and present in a clear manner.   Physical Demands / Work Environment:                             * Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.  Ability to travel domestically (25%) and occasionally internationally (5%) required.
