Greater Good Charities•Anywhere•Full-time
View Job
Compensation$160K - 220K a year

Lead global logistics, demand planning, inventory, freight execution, and supply chain systems while improving distribution capacity and financial compliance. | Requires 10+ years of progressive global supply chain leadership, a bachelor’s degree, ERP proficiency, and experience with Salesforce and NetSuite. | Greater Good Charities is a 501(c)(3) global nonprofit organization that works to help people, pets, and the planet by mobilizing in response to need and amplifying the good. To date, we have provided over $1B in aid, expertise, and funding in 121 countries in support of this mission. Position Overview: The Director of Supply Chain is a high-impact, hands-on operational leader and strategic troubleshooter. Operating at the intersection of supply chain execution, data analytics, and program strategy, this role is built to drive rapid operational optimization across GGC's global distribution engine. You will lead the end-to-end movement of donated (in-kind) and procured goods, balancing immediate operational pragmatism with long-term systems modernization. Embedded within a data-driven programmatic architecture that prioritizes evidence for decision-making, you will design agile inventory frameworks, establish demand forecasting, and enforce supply chain best practices tailored for non-governmental organizations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Agile Inventory Management & Demand Planning Design, implement, and maintain responsive demand planning models that seamlessly bridge internal program planning and donor pipelines with global suppliers, downstream partner capacities, and community needs. Establish agile inventory control protocols to ensure real-time visibility, optimize stock rotation, minimize warehousing overhead, and mitigate product expiration risks. Structure and manage a pre-positioned Disaster Response Reserve, ensuring rapid deployment capability during acute emergency responses without disrupting ongoing core distribution. 2. End-to-End Supply Chain Execution (70% US / 30% International) Direct the full operational lifecycle of goods: donor offer matching, multi-modal freight contracting (TL, LTL, Ocean, Air), field receiving, inventory verification, distribution, and financial closeout. US Domestic Logistics (70%): Oversee recipient partner networks and warehouse operations, establishing industry best practices for safety, pest control, receiving, capacity planning, and field training. European & International Operations (30%): Direct cross-border logistics, import/export requirements, and customs compliance for international shipments, ensuring specialized frameworks like the EU Goods program meet regional standards. European Capacity Expansion Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic capacity growth plan to absorb, manage, and scale corporate and in-kind donations across Europe through a robust, sustainable supply chain framework. Own carrier and broker relationships, negotiating competitive rates, monitoring SLAs, and managing detention, damage, and freight claims. 3. Systems Integration, Data Architecture & Decision Intelligence Serve as the operational business owner for GGC’s logistics tech stack (Salesforce, NetSuite ERP, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and WMS), maximizing system efficiency and tool interconnectivity to deliver streamlined procedures, reduced cycle times, and accurate financial reporting. Eliminate manual data re-keying by standardizing data intake forms, partner reporting portals, and digital field submissions, leveraging lightweight, right-sized AI-powered solutions to automate document processing and field data capture. Transform raw supply chain and field data into actionable intelligence, building real-time executive dashboards tracking key operational metrics (e.g., report timeliness, cycle times, accept/decline rates, pledged vs. received accuracy, and net landed impact). 4. Process Troubleshooting & Pragmatic SOP Optimization Act as a pragmatic troubleshooter across the supply chain, identifying bottlenecks, resolving operational friction, and bridging gaps between field realities and formal policy. Develop, consolidate, and enforce unified Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for movement tracking, inventory control, and bill of lading (BOL) submission pathways. Balance practical field solutions with necessary system upgrades, ensuring new workflows remain user-friendly for field partners while adhering to strict institutional controls. 5. Financial Reconciliation & Compliance Governance Partner with Finance to ensure 100% alignment between physical inventory movement, field receipt documentation, and the general ledger. Streamline the financial closeout and reconciliation cycle time for in-kind shipments and handling fee invoices. Maintain IRS-ready documentation (Form 990 / Form 8282 standards), enforce strict no-resale policies, manage recall protocols, and support internal and external financial/programmatic audits. Ensure compliance with U.S. export control and sanctions regulations (EAR/OFAC) for international shipments, including denied-party screening of partners, vendors, and recipients. 6. Partner Capacity Building Establish performance criteria, quality scorecards, and audit frameworks for domestic and international distribution partners, implementing systematic approaches to collect, analyze, and act upon audit findings. Create user-friendly onboarding toolkits, digital training modules, and technical support pathways for field teams, program focal points, and community distribution networks. Recommend corrective action protocols (probation, suspension, or offboarding) when partner compliance or safety standards are compromised. 7. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Build, mentor, and direct the global logistics team, establishing a clear staffing model and career progression pathways. Serve as a collaborative team player and primary operational liaison between Logistics, Programs, Finance, Operations, and Corporate Relations, translating complex supply chain data into strategic recommendations for C-Suite leadership. Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field required (Master’s degree a plus). 10+ years of progressive leadership in global supply chain and logistics management. Professional certification such as APICS/ASCM CSCP or CPIM, ISM CPSM, or Certified Humanitarian Logistician (CHL) strongly preferred. Proven track record as a hands-on "troubleshooter" capable of making swift, practical decisions in fast-paced NGO or humanitarian environments. Strong team-building skills with a highly collaborative approach to cross-departmental work. Demonstrated experience with ERPs (NetSuite), CRMs (Salesforce), and WMS platforms. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Proven ability to bridge everyday operational tools (e.g., spreadsheets, Smartsheet) by embedding them into enterprise systems and AI-assisted workflows to boost efficiency and user adoption. Expertise in US freight and warehousing networks (70%), combined with practical knowledge of international cross-border logistics, customs, and international trade compliance (30%). Solid understanding of inventory valuation, audit readiness, financial reconciliation, and managing donor-restricted goods. High initiative and strategic thinking, with the ability to balance immediate operational field demands with long-term organizational transformation. Commitment to the mission of Greater Good Charities. Working Environment: This position is fully remote. The employee is expected to work 40 hours per week from 9 am – 5 pm in their time zone, Monday – Friday. Travel: 30% (includes domestic & international) Benefits: Benefits include 13 paid national holidays, sick leave, paid vacation, parental leave, 401K, life insurance, medical, dental, and vision benefits.

Major Gifts Engagement Manager

Greater Good Charities•Anywhere•Full-time
View Job
Compensation$55K - 85K a year

Manage donor communications and moves management strategy to cultivate and retain high-value donors using data-driven insights. | Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years nonprofit advancement experience, strong writing skills, CRM proficiency, and wealth screening experience required. | Greater Good Charities is a 501(c)(3) global nonprofit organization that works to help people, pets, and the planet by mobilizing in response to need and amplifying the good. To date, we have provided over $1B in aid, expertise, and funding in 121 countries in support of this mission. Position Overview: Greater Good Charities seeks a strategic Major Gifts Engagement Manager to create targeted, sophisticated, and compelling major donor communications for our highest value supporters, and to conduct prospect research for major funding opportunities (major gifts and grants). This role will own communication to our non-portfolio major donor cohort, and develop strategies to engage and retain them, with the ultimate goal of qualifying and moving these donors into managed pipelines. This role will also support Major Gifts Officers in creating content. Copywriting is a large part of this position. The Major Gifts Engagement Manager serves our non-portfolio high value donors by communicating with them in the channels they actually use: a dedicated major donor newsletter, segmented email, and targeted print and digital materials customized to their preferences. The role bridge’s GGC’s mid-level and major donor programs, and the manager will own the moves management plan to carry donors from mid-level through to one-on-one cultivation by a Major Gifts Officer. This role exists at the intersection of compelling storytelling and strategic intelligence — producing the high-quality, relationship-centered communications that major donor fundraising demands, while equipping gift officers with the prospect research and donor insights they need to cultivate transformational gifts. This is not a portfolio role. The Major Donor Engagement Manager does not carry assigned donors or conduct solicitation visits. This person designs and runs the system that moves donors upward and equips the Major Gifts team with qualified prospects rather than competing with it. The position will carry a revenue goal and help the Advancement team meet its annual $5M goal. The right candidate is a strong writer and has a fundraiser's instinct for pipeline: someone who can tell a program story well, read the CRM data to find out whether it landed, and recognize the donor whose behavior says they are ready for a conversation. Key Responsibilities: Major Donor Content Own the major donor newsletter end to end — editorial calendar, sourcing, writing, production, review cycle, and distribution. Work directly with the Growth team and program staff across causes to source stories, outcomes, and data that meet a major donor's standard of evidence. Maintain a consistent editorial voice that is succinct, plainspoken, and gap-focused, in line with GGC brand guidelines. Help curate a reusable content library of impact stories, figures, and imagery for use across major donor channels. Creating fundraising assets such as one-pagers, PowerPoint presentations, and other materials as required. Segmented Campaigns & Appeals Plan and execute segmented email campaigns to defined slices of the non-portfolio major donor lists — by program affinity, giving level, recency, tenure, etc. Write and produce cohort-specific appeals, including year-end, mid-year, emergency response, and program-restricted campaigns. Design and run renewal, upgrade, and lapsed-donor sequences, with upgrade strategy explicitly tied to the moves management framework. Partner with the marketing team to ensure these donors receive suppression, sequencing, and creative treatment appropriate to their level. Report on cohort performance regularly and own stewardship for non-portfolio donors. Moves Management & Pipeline Development Own GGC's moves management strategy to bridge mid-level donors to portfolio donors managed by Major Gifts Officers — the defined sequence of communications and touches that advances a donor from one giving level to the next. Work with the Advancement team to document the qualification framework: which engagement, giving, and capacity signals indicate readiness for one-on-one cultivation, and what threshold triggers a hand-off. Maintain the moves management architecture in HubSpot — stages, properties, tasks, and reporting — so pipeline movement is visible rather than anecdotal. When donors are qualified, provide reporting to Major Gifts Officers, including engagement history, program affinity, and recommended approach. Track and report pipeline health — hand-off volume, acceptance rate, conversion to assigned portfolios, and time from mid-level entry to qualification. Prospect Research & Grants Support Conduct prospect research for major gifts within the GGC CRM based on intent signals and enrichment data from Wealth Engine and Dataro, and within Foundation Center for grants Support grant writing as needed Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, nonprofit management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit advancement, development communications, or a related role, with a demonstrated portfolio of major donor writing — proposals, impact reports, donor correspondence, or similar materials. Exceptional writing ability, with a distinctive capacity for translating complex program information and data into emotionally resonant, donor-centered narratives; ability to adapt tone and style to reflect the voice of senior leadership and the organization. Experience in prospect research, including familiarity with wealth screening tools (WealthEngine, Dataro, iWave, or similar), philanthropic databases, and public records research. Experience contributing to grant proposals and reports preferred; familiarity with foundation research tools (e.g., Foundation Directory Online, Candid, Instrumentl) a plus. Strong research and analytical skills; ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into clear, actionable profiles and recommendations. Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines. Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential donor information. Experience in animal welfare, environmental, humanitarian, or related nonprofit sectors preferred. Demonstrated ability to produce donor and grant materials that translate directly into closed gifts and funded proposals. Commitment to the mission of Greater Good Charities and ability to bring that mission to life on the page. Working Environment: This position is fully remote. The employee is expected to work 40 hours per week from 9 am – 5 pm in their time zone, Monday – Friday. Benefits: Benefits include 13 paid national holidays, sick leave, paid vacation, parental leave, 401K, life insurance, medical, dental, and vision benefits.
