Manage loan applications and support clients through the mortgage lending process to facilitate homeownership. | At least 3 years mortgage lending experience, strong organizational skills, knowledge of mortgage products, and ability to manage multiple loan files. | LOAN ORIGINATOR - OUTSIDE SALES (SARASOTA, FL) – JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY amp; PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Loan Officer will serve as a key member of the Sarasota lending team, supporting clients and producing Loan Officers throughout the mortgage lending process. Excellence in this position will be achieved through effective loan application support, accurate file management, responsive communication, and close coordination with Loan Officers, processors, underwriters, and other lending staff. PRIMARY POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: • Guide borrowers through the loan application process, explain required information and qualification criteria, and provide responsive support throughout the transaction; • Take complete loan applications and collect all required initial documentation; • Run credit reports, loan pricing, and DU findings; • Generate mortgage insurance (MI) quotes, when applicable; • Explain loan terms, policies, guidelines, and product options in clear and understandable language; • Provide current loan rate information upon request; • Request loan disclosures for pre-approvals and purchase contracts; • Assist clients with reviewing and signing required disclosures; • Complete required origination milestones in Encompass and submit complete documentation to processing; • Review loan files for completeness prior to submission to the processor, including tax returns, identification, bank statements, income documentation, award letters, DD214s, letters of explanation, and other required documentation; • Lock loans when appropriate and notify the processor and disclosure desk; • Conduct weekly pipeline review meetings with the processor and Loan Officer; • Provide timely weekly loan status updates to realtors and other referral partners; • Monitor loan progress and work closely with Loan Officers, processors, underwriters, and other staff to facilitate a smooth and compliant transaction; • Attend and complete all required training; • Maintain current knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines, policies, procedures, investor requirements, and applicable regulations; • Maintain all applicable licensing requirements; • Provide exceptional customer service throughout every stage of the lending process; • Complete other duties as assigned. PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • At least three (3) years of mortgage lending experience required; • At least two (2) years of experience as a Production Loan Partner preferred; • Strong working knowledge of mortgage products, loan programs, and loan types; • Demonstrated ability to manage approximately 30–60 active loan applications per month; • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills; • Outstanding work ethic and time management skills; • Ability to perform exceptionally well under pressure and meet deadlines; • Strong oral and written communication skills; • Prior experience with Encompass preferred; • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in finance, accounting, mathematics, or a related field preferred; • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred. REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: • Servicing Specialists POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The employee must be able to effectively manage multiple active loan files, prioritize competing deadlines, communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced mortgage lending environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT This position is primarily office-based in Sarasota, Florida, with occasional travel generally limited to less than 25% for client meetings, closings, or other business-related activities. Rare lifting of up to 25 lbs. may be required. The employee will regularly interact with clients, referral partners, Loan Officers, processors, underwriters, and other lending personnel and must maintain a professional, service-oriented presence at all times.
