Toward this end, the position partners closely with Club and Contact volunteers via monthly meetings and travel to each market as budget affords. The Associate Director will work to engage Clubs and Contacts on behalf of the University to deliver key messages and carry forward campaign talking points, the importance of participation in giving to Georgetown, as well as supporting University initiatives. In doing so, they will work to help build and engage a network of informed and educated ambassadors for Georgetown. This position will work closely with Development Officers in their relevant region (West Coast and Southwest), the annual giving team, alumni career services, as well as unit-based Development Officers to create a comprehensive and unique strategy for each market they manage. This strategy will help balance the unique needs and priorities of Georgetown University, the “Called to Be” Campaign, and the Alumni Association. As such, the Associate Director plays an integral role in planning, coordinating and programming off-campus events for the University with the intent to reach our alumni and broader constituent base through a variety of regional events and programs. This person will also oversee our communications strategy for the Alumni Clubs Committee, serving as the liaison to both the Vice-Chair for Communications for that committee and the Communications Committee for the Board of Governors of the Alumni Association. This will involve working with two committees of approximately 20 alumni. Some travel, evening and weekends, are required. The Associate Director will serve as a professional representative of Georgetown University to donors, volunteers, prospects, vendors, faculty, staff and students. Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation The Associate Director of Regional Engagement reports to the Senior Director of Regional Engagement. This position interacts with Alumni Relations colleagues in Alumni House (Affinity Groups, Career Services, Lifelong Learning), as well as Office of Advancement Staff (Special Events, Development, Discovery, Athletics, Communications, Annual Giving, Production, Alumni Records), University Staff, the Georgetown University Alumni Association and external constituents. Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification: Must be proficient with standard computer applications including Microsoft Office suite, internet and e-mail. Other Skills: Proven experience working with volunteers. Computer literacy, excellent writing and speaking skills and attention to details are vital. High level of self-confidence and enthusiasm; ability to be a self-starter; strong customer service focus. The ability to tend to the needs of the alumni body enthusiastically, professionally, diplomatically, and promptly is essential. Candidates must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment on several projects at a time. Experience working in higher education is a plus. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Personable and experienced in customer relations. Experience working with volunteers and alumni relations. Must be extremely well-organized and detail- oriented, able to successfully handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, and consistently meet all deadlines and goals. Must be able to assimilate data, exercise sound judgment and discretion, and work independently. Accuracy in materials preparation, dependability, and ability to maintain confidentiality are required. Event management knowledge also a plus. Familiarity with social networking programs is a plus.

Position will manage and support IT requirements of new and existing research projects in higher education fields, including but not exclusive to chemistry, physics, biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. Incumbent will assure that baseline research technologies run effectively; and follow regulatory, compliance, data, and storage best practices. Helping the community identify and adopt emerging and enriched research IT resources is an important aspect of this position, as is helping the Research Technologies team develop strong customer relations and partnerships to enhance research and grant funding. They will support external data acquisition by acting as a liaison between researchers, JORA and UIS. This role will act as a consultant for researchers looking for the right technology supported by UIS for their research needs. They will gather the research project requirements and match solutions to their budget. As part of this process they will work with JORA during the early grant application phase to support the budget requests of grants. Finally, through interactions with research consortiums and their own research they will provide recommendations of research technology that UIS and GU should adopt for researchers. This position will work closely with both GU and GUMC faculty as well as key members of UIS on behalf of the research community. Incumbent will serve as a Research Technologies “Expert Resource” for internal and selected external research collaborations. Work Interactions This role is a combination of consultative and engagement management for research technology support. They will need to collaborate daily with members of UIS including AVP of System Engineering and Operations, the chief information security officer and the AVP of Enterprise services. This role is responsible for mobilizing their teams to provide solutions and resolve issues for research technology requirements. The role must also work directly with the research community to gather their requirements and translate the information for UIS to process. Finally, this role will need to interact with the general council to work through grant and data requirements found in research related contracts. By collaborating with all of these positions this role helps ensure compliance, regulation and performance for research projects. Requirements The Grants Management Lead is part of the Workday Georgetown Management System, GMS, enterprise resource planning system team. They are a principle team member responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining the full cycle of the institution’s grants management process, from proposal development, submission, to award acceptance and post award accounting and reporting within GMS. Serving as the primary bridge between the University Information Systems office and the department of Sponsored Projects Financial Operations, SPFO, and the Joint Office of Research Operations, JORA, the Grants Management Lead has additional duties that include but are not limited to: • Document requirements and define business processes, policies, and procedures that are aligned with the University’s research and HR/Finance business strategies. • Manage the project tactically, driving the success by applying proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills in order to produce timely, efficient, and high quality deliverables. • Analyze and coordinate the successful implementation of a new grants management features and functionality, reviewing, analyzing, configuring, and evaluating the grants system and user needs. Work Interactions The Grants Management Lead reports directly to the Director of Financial Systems and Processes.
