Manage and reconcile inventory counts, process shipments, maintain accurate inventory records, assist with OS&D reporting, and perform light administrative tasks. | High school diploma, 1+ year inventory or warehouse experience preferred, attention to detail, basic math skills, ability to lift 50 pounds, and forklift experience preferred. | Job Description Position: Inventory Control Clerk Compensation: $22 per hour Available Schedule: Saturday-Wednesday (weekdays 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM and weekends 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM) Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable individual to join our Forward Air team as an Inventory Control Clerk. This role is primarily responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels, especially in racking/rafter storage areas. The position also involves assisting with overage, shortage, and damage (OS&D) reporting, as well as light administrative support. All necessary training and materials will be provided. Core Responsibilities & Duties • Perform routine inventory counts in racking systems and reconcile discrepancies • Work within WMS to ensure accurate inventory control • Help process daily shipments via common carrier, integrator and freight forwarder • Accurately track and document product movement using warehouse management systems • Assist with overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D) reports and claims • Organize and label freight stored in rafters and pallet racks • Safely utilize warehouse equipment such as ladders or lifts to access elevated inventory • Update spreadsheets, logs, and internal systems with inventory adjustments • Communicate with dock workers, drivers, and warehouse personnel regarding freight location and availability • Perform light office administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and report printing • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment • Forklift, Reach Truck, Order picker experience preferred • Other duties as assigned Job Requirements & Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required • 1+ year of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics preferred • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and Microsoft Excel is a plus • Comfortable working at heights (with proper safety equipment) • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds • Must be able to occasionally climb or reach storage in elevated racking • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills • Forklift experience or certification is a plus • Must be 18 or older Forward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer. #FWRD2 About Us Since 1990, Forward Air has been a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American air freight and expedited LTL market. Key duties include loading and unloading freight, conducting cycle counts, labeling shipments, and ensuring compliance with safety and reporting procedures.
