Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Quality Engineer located in Austin, TX. Reporting to the Quality Manger, the Quality Engineer will be maintaining quality engineering programs, standards and improvements within the organization. Shift: 3rd 11:00 PM- 7:17 AM Sun- Thu What a typical day looks like: Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation. Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data. Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost. Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability. Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities. Holds up Product Engineers and Quality Program Managers with customer interfaces as necessary on quality related issues. Assures data availability and integrity for all quality related data. Consolidates and reports quality results. Initiates corrective action requests as needed and tracks to satisfactory completion. Assists with development and implementation of quality audits. In charge of developing, applying, revising and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or production equipment. Explores reports and returned products and recommends corrective action. Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement and research of equipment and facilities. Approves product, process and equipment qualifications. Provides liaison to various regulatory bodies. Job Summary Job Description Shift: 1st Shift 7:00am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday) Principle Accountabilities: · Audits processes, tests and inspects products and/or develops, compiles and evaluates statistical data to define and maintain quality and reliability of products. · Working from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause investigation, internal corrective actions and supplier correction actions. · Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to define quality and reliability standards. · Selects processes to be audited from primarily the manufacturing areas and checks for a variety of features, including ESD (electro-static discharge) and handling practices, documentation, training and process integrity. · Selects products for audits at specified stages in the production or post-production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical, electrical or cosmetic characteristics. · Records audit data, applying statistical quality control procedures. · Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. · Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards, programs or reports to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. · Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for investigation. · Download quality information from quality system to be used for QA reports. · Explore engineering test results and implements process changes to resolve problems. · Provides factory help to identify and resolve issues associated with purchased parts, materials and manufacturing.
