About the Role: Everest Insurance, a member of Everest Group Ltd., is seeking an experienced Director, Data Analyst with a strong background in Property & Casualty commercial insurance. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of industry experience, preferably with leading carriers specializing in commercial lines. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive enterprise-wide reporting and analytics initiatives to support business growth and portfolio management. Role Overview The Director, Data Analyst will partner with Underwriting teams and business leaders to develop Data warehouse and reporting data assets, enabling data-driven decision-making. This role demands close collaboration with IT and other functions to navigate a fast-paced, agile environment and quickly adapt to market changes. The successful candidate will leverage analytical expertise to interpret complex data, identify trends, and communicate actionable insights to senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with IT and business teams to implement scalable ETL / reporting solutions that align with Everest’s long-term strategy. Analyze business data processing problems to implement and improve systems and streamline existing processes, develop, and report on data trends, and perform data analysis. Experience working with stakeholders on projects to develop strategies and solutions, ideally related to data. Experience working with a business team to develop functional requirements and translating those into technical requirements is important. Evaluate data systems, operations, and organizational aspects of various departments, and make recommendations. Analyze large datasets and able to tell a story using statistical techniques and product knowledge to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights. Establish and promote Best Practices for Data analysis, Visualization, and defining KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) in collaboration with Data Governance, Operations and Technology teams. Ensure Data accuracy and integrity by validating sources and refining reporting methodologies with high degree of diligence. Develop technical requirements, mapping, and transformation specs for data engineering or analytics/reporting. Document data lineage & data quality rules to ensure integrity with data solutions and to enable effective testing. Partner with Engineering and Testing teams to help with quality build of data and reporting solutions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, or related fields. Minimum 10 years of experience, including 3 years in the insurance industry, with a strong understanding of financial and operational metrics. Expertise in Data Warehouse, Data Warehouse integration with other systems and Data visualization/Reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) and familiarity with Azure Cloud and Data Lake (Databricks) is a plus. Experience working with ETL tools like MS SSIS, Visual Studio, etc. Strong technical skills in SQL, Data Warehouse model and experience working with both structured and unstructured data formats (JSON, XML). Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify business impacts, and develop actionable recommendations. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and storytelling abilities, with the ability to present findings to senior stakeholders. Collaborative mindset, with the ability to build relationships and drive alignment across teams. Ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining focus on strategic goals. For CA, NY, NJ or IL: The base salary range for this position is $152,000 - $208,250 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
