The Opportunity Reporting to the Director of Application Development, the Application Developer and Integration Specialist is an experienced full-stack developer who will work to support the University’s business processes by effectively and efficiently applying technology solutions to deliver custom applications and integrations between university systems. This position is involved in customizations of and integrations between the University’s intranet, portal, online learning, identity management, business systems, and e-commerce environments. This requires the ability to learn and support the existing custom applications, the needs of the business units that rely on them, the business processes of the departments that require new custom solutions, and the business’ need for integrations between systems. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience building and maintaining forms and applications running on a ColdFusion back-end using both Oracle and Mongo databases. Expertise with front-end technologies including HTML, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS is also required. The candidate will be expert in various data exchange formats such as JSON, XML, delimited and fixed-length data and with using web API’s to exchange data between systems. Experience and willingness to work in low-code/no-code cloud integration tools like Informatica Intelligent Cloud is required. Expertise adjacent languages and technologies is highly desired including C#.Net, Java, Linux Shell scripting and PowerShell. The candidate should be well versed in tools used to develop, debug and test applications, web services and evaluate application performance. Attention to detail coupled with an inquisitive nature are key ingredients for the candidate to be successful. The position is highly technical in nature and requires a team-player attitude capable of leading or contributing to projects. Preferred qualifications include FAA pilot or maintenance certification. | Job Description The Opportunity The Regional Director for the Aerospace Career Academy (ACA) is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and administration of middle school, high school, and dual enrollment Embry Riddle aerospace programs across the designated counties in Florida. This role serves as the primary liaison among teachers, administrative personnel, and district staff, ensuring seamless program operation and fostering a robust learning environment. Key responsibilities include facilitating the enrollment and onboarding process for all ACA aerospace programs in the region, and addressing any issues related to scheduling, course selection, credentialing, and instructor management. The Regional Director will troubleshoot and resolve challenges, ensuring timely and effective solutions. In addition, the Regional Director must stay informed and actively participate in all DOE and CTE updates impacting the aerospace program, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines, including regulations on products from countries of concern and drone usage. Event planning and execution are crucial aspects of the role, with responsibilities including the organization of regional competition events. Establishing and maintaining partnerships with industry leaders to support program initiatives and student opportunities is essential, as is regular classroom engagement to provide support and instruction on specialized aerospace topics. Active recruitment of schools and districts for the aerospace programs, participation in field trips, special events, science nights, and other extracurricular activities to promote the program is also expected. The Regional Director must continuously assess and improve program delivery to meet educational goals and standards, making necessary adjustments as the industry and needs change. This is a fully remote online position with no relocation required; faculty travel is required to attend mandatory college meetings and events as well as conferences. Candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Physiology, Ergonomics, Biomechanics, Human Computer Interaction, or related disciplines, and a demonstrated competency in human factors-related studies and practices. Candidates should have demonstrated leadership and technical experience in academic, industry, and/or government settings. Additionally, ideal candidates should have a track record of teaching, research, and service inhuman cognitive, physiological, psychological, human-AI teaming, ; human-system interface; and/or related skills.
