The Role: We are seeking a Data Engineer & DBA to join DataOps team. This role combines database administration, data engineering, and process optimization in a high-volume environment. Responsibilities: • Manage DataOps and Data Warehouse (DWH) processes, including design, development, testing, monitoring, and optimization of data pipelines and aggregations. • Share DBA responsibilities for two large and complex Vertica clusters, including monitoring, troubleshooting performance issues, and optimizing queries. • Work closely with business, data, product, and tech teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. • Coding in Python, SQL, and light Bash scripting for Linux environments. • Orchestrate workflows using Jenkins and Airflow. • Share on-call duties to handle production incidents, including night/weekend coverage as needed. Requirements: • 3+ years experience writing complex SQL queries. • 3+ years experience developing data processes in Python. • Relevant degree or studies in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. • Experience with large-scale databases (Vertica preferred, but Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, MS SQL, MySQL acceptable). • Self-learner, responsible, independent, and able to work without micromanagement. • Excellent English communication skills Preferred Experience: • Database performance optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting in high-volume environments. • Experience managing multiple processes (200+), with billions of data records across cloud and on-prem systems. • Ability to balance DBA and Data Engineering tasks effectively.
