Join Our Medical Group Optimization (MGO) Division ECG's MGO Division works with providers to design strategies that drive alignment while being sustainable, scalable, and adaptable. As part of our team, you’ll help independent organizations to improve the performance of medical groups, with a focus on governance and leadership, operations, integration, infrastructure, and provider compensation. Compensation Advisory, Design, and Administration Services Our MGO team develops solutions for improving hospital-physician alignment and integration. We partner with our healthcare clients in the development and design, implementation, and administration of physician and advanced practice provider compensation strategies, balancing their goals of market competitiveness, equity, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance. Health System Alignment: This area aligns units/components of the health system to enable strategy and drive performance. This includes corporate/structural design; governance affiliations, professional services agreements, and comanagement models; organization and management structures; financial incentives; and funds flow. Academic: This area works with academic medical centers/academic health systems and universities to advance their academic missions. This includes education and research planning and performance improvement, accreditation-related assistance, new program/medical school development, and affiliations. Your Opportunity with ECG: Senior Manager or Associate Principal As a senior manager or associate principal at ECG, you’ll play a key leadership role in driving client engagements, shaping strategy, and contributing to the firm’s growth. You’ll work alongside industry leaders, tackle complex business challenges, and advance your career in an environment that values expertise, collaboration, and innovation. These roles are significant steps toward partnership and equity ownership in the firm. Senior managers and associate principals are recognized as emerging or established thought leaders with a proven ability to manage and sell complex engagements and build lasting client relationships. Your Responsibilities May Include Leading engagements and assuming ultimate responsibility for high-quality client deliverables Working with the client to articulate complex issues requiring attention and strategizing with consultant teams on project approach Leading project teams by executing work plans; providing direction, timeline, and budget management; and facilitating data-gathering and problem-solving processes Leading meetings and presentations for client leadership Overseeing the design and implementation of recommended solutions Coaching and mentoring staff, writing and delivering performance reviews, and assisting with recruiting new consultants Associate principal level: contributing to firm growth by identifying and pursuing follow-on and new business opportunities, targeting $500,000 revenue per year Senior manager level: contributing to firm growth by identifying and pursuing follow-on and new business opportunities, targeting $200,000 in revenue per year Managing the preparation of complex proposals Establishing and sharing thought leadership and deep subject matter expertise Being a leader within the firm and contributing to the firm’s culture and success Requirements Strong knowledge of and passion for the healthcare industry Master’s degree in business administration and/or a health-related field; bachelor’s degree in business or a health-related field preferred Eight years or more of progressive experience in physician strategy alignment and compensation design with expertise in assisting hospitals and health systems, children’s hospitals, and/or academic medical centers; consideration to be given to years of experience as a hospital senior executive combined with consulting experience Demonstrated record of solving complex problems, directing and managing individuals, and completing challenging projects Track record of managing multiple engagements, including work plans, deliverables, budgets and schedules, and accounts receivable Demonstrated record of achievement in selling and managing engagements Recognized as a thought leader through marketing activities such as networking with potential clients, participating in professional societies, and publishing and presenting thought leadership (whitepapers, speeches, and articles) Demonstrated focus on staff development, coaching, and retention, with a refined ability to provide constructive and timely feedback Strong written and verbal presentation skills Ability to travel at least 50% of the time Job Locations Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, San Diego, St. Louis, or Washington, DC Hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of two days per week in office when not traveling for a client engagement Schedule Full time/exempt What You Can Expect of Us To reward our driven, innovative, and passionate employees, we’ve built a company culture that’s centered on performance. The estimated base salary range for this job is $205,000 – $260,000 annually. It represents a good faith estimate of the range that ECG reasonably expects to pay at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, special skills, and market changes. This job is eligible to participate in ECG’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects ECG’s pay-for-performance philosophy.
