As a member of the Digital Fundraising & Engagement team (DFE), the Sr. Audience Program Manager leads development of strategy and analysis of audience segmentation and donor lifecycle marketing across Earthjustice’s digital fundraising program. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing multi-channel engagement strategies that deepen donor relationships and increase long-term value across our Sustainer, Justice Partner, and one-time donor audiences. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with the Digital Fundraising & Engagement (DFE) team, as well as members of the Outreach & Membership Services (OMS) and Development Operations, ensuring that every touchpoint -- email, SMS, paid media, and direct mail -- is driven by data-informed insights and an integrated approach to retention, stewardship, and growth. The position reports to the Senior Director of Digital Fundraising & Engagement. This is a non-supervisory position. What you'll do: Audience Management and Strategy (50%) In partnership with DFE and OMS, design and implement data-driven strategies that increase retention, deepen engagement, and maximize lifetime value across online and offline channels, including but not limited to automations, customized outreach language, integrated cross-channel targeting. Manage the development of activists to first-time donor pipelines, developing integrated strategies to increase conversion rates in coordination with the Digital Advocacy team. Pursue innovative, best-in-class approaches to communications work, and share those learnings with colleagues. Maintain an ongoing understanding of communications best practices and movement trends to ensure Earthjustice leads, not just follows. Analysis and Testing (30%) Establish short and long-term goals and evaluation process for KPIs across donor acquisition, retention, and upgrades. Report-out on progress towards goals on a regular basis. Pilot and evaluate new tactics or tests designed to increase performance against KPIs. Serve as the primary DFE liaison for CRM enhancements and advocate for improvements impacting donor experiences. Donor Stewardship and engagement (10%): Assist in the development of the overall Digital Fundraising & Engagement strategy to ensure donor segments receive a custom digital experience. Partner with Outreach & Membership Services to design and execute stewardship activities, including monthly donor acknowledgments and digital engagement touchpoints. Manage updates and improvements to the Earthjustice Member Center and donor-facing website content that enhance the supporter experience and retention journey. The position provides a broad range of executive administrative support to the Devo Executive Team (DET) and two Development Associate Vice Presidents (AVPs), one overseeing institutional, legacy, and major giving, and one overseeing campaigns and principal giving, including schedule management, meeting planning and project management of select initiatives across the department. The primary responsibilities of this role are to act as a seamless extension of the AVPs and DET, including support of high-net-worth donor portfolios and providing effective support to the Development Department. In addition to the administrative tasks, this position will also manage information flow throughout a geographically dispersed team, prepare a variety of complex documents and reports, coordinate administration of fundraising strategy, manage projects as they arise, and other duties as assigned. This position will work hybrid from our San Francisco, CA Headquarters office and reports to the Director, Development Leadership Team (DLT). Responsibilities Executive Administration (60%) • Serve as point of contact for scheduling meetings and video/conference calls with people both internally and externally for the AVPs and their respective teams. • Draft, proofread, and copyedit correspondence, reports, and proposals for the AVPs. • Partner with AVP maintain, track, and report on AVP portfolio of donors. • Make and monitor travel arrangements for AVPs and prepare expense reports after travel. • Maintain Development Department Staff contact, titles, and other department information. • Partner with the Finance department to manage reconciliation of AVPs’ credit cards, manage expense reports, research significant purchases. • Assist in running and scheduling monthly Development department meetings. • Maintain vendor contracts and service agreements and coordinate services with outside vendors or facilitators. • Participate in a committee of Executive Assistants and independently lead internal work groups. • Manage the monthly Development-specific buddy program to ensure connection across teams. • Provide coverage and training for other Executive Assistants as needed. • Assist other teams that report to the AVP with tasks and projects as needed. • Other duties as assigned. Fundraising Strategy Coordination (10%) • Manage departmental process for President’s review and donor work. • Coordinate with leaders of ILMG teams for monthly strategy meetings and annual trainings. • Track opportunities and prioritize across departmental requests in partnership with Director, DLT and the Office of the President. Project Coordination (30%) • Collaborate with the Director, DLT to plan, organize, and execute logistics for development staff outings, trainings, retreats, and group activities, including planning for the annual department-wide travel meeting. • Assist in planning other team retreats as needed. • Support improvement of various onboarding and IT processes and databases and participate in revisions to existing systems. • Train Devo staff on new administrative processes, for example Atlas, Workramp, Concur, and Outlook. • Manage internal comms for the department in partnership with Director, DLT. • Support other projects as assigned. Qualifications • A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in development (fundraising) or an executive setting preferred. • 2+ years minimum work experience necessary as is experience working in a non-profit setting. • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant qualifications such as Certified Administrative Professional® (CAP®), Professional Administrative Certificate of Excellence® (PACE®), Certified Executive Administrative Professional® (CEAP®), or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) designation, or equivalent experience, preferred. • Valid driver’s license required. • Available for business travel 5 or more days per year as required for in-person planning meetings. • Professional attitude in maintaining confidentiality of management-level decisions, decision-making processes, and privacy of high-level donor information and concerns. • Demonstrated experience solving problems and executing routine decisions with minimum guidance. • Experience working in a nonprofit development setting in an organization of more than 250 professionals preferred. • Excellent interpersonal skills and good judgment about people and situations. • Exemplary organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple tasks, lead planning, meet deadlines, and prioritize assignments. • Superior communication skills, including demonstrated experience writing effective correspondence, reports, proposal and other print collateral. • Meticulous attention to detail including excellent proofreading and copy-editing skills, including the management of complex information. • Professional, positive, and approachable attitude. Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of people, including Board members, donors, volunteers, the public and staff. • In-depth proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Reader and Acrobat. Useful but not essential—working knowledge of Access, HTML, website design, desktop publishing and project management software. • Database management skills required with ability to produce reports and to use advanced functions, including sophisticated knowledge of the Internet. Strong working knowledge of a constituent relationship management (CRM) system or donor database such as Raiser’s Edge is highly preferred. Experience with PowerPoint Adobe Photoshop, or other desktop publishing programs desirable. • Ability to use discretion and diplomacy in dealing with donors, Board members, and colleagues, including proficiency in prioritizing workflow of Senior Staff and proposing solutions as needed • Background and/or interest in environmental issues preferred. • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, sometimes under time pressure and facing unexpected challenges, with excellent results. • Ability to take change in stride, overcome obstacles and adapt to unforeseen conditions; successful at on-the-fly adaptation when needed. • Contributes towards an equitable and inclusive work culture that encourages partnership, active listening, and integrating diverse perspectives. • Supports Earthjustice’s core values of partnership, inclusion, justice and excellence. Salary is based on location and experience.
