The Sales Engineer (SE) will collaborate with Account Executives and provide the technical expertise during the pre-sales process for opportunity types such as Request for Proposal (RFP), Design-Build, and Design Consulting. The SE will be responsible for completion of all technical deliverables required for each opportunity including, but not limited to, complete bill of materials with pricing, labor estimate, and scope of work. The SE will be expected to accompany Account Executives to in-person and virtual Customer meetings as needed. For Design-Build and Design Consulting opportunities, the SE will collaborate with Account Executives to determine and understand our Customers existing workflows, business/operational needs, and technology/collaboration strategy in order to design solutions that best meet their functional requirements now and into the foreseeable future with focus on end user experience. What will you be doing? • Establish and maintain positive and effective lines of communication with • Account Executives and our Customers. • Attend in-person and/or virtual discovery meetings to identify our Customers • technology and business requirements. • Attend site surveys when necessary to obtain design space details. • Ability to conceptualize, define, and explain our technology solutions to • Customers with varying levels of technical expertise. • Validate solutions for standard RFP/RFQ and Consultant Design-Bid-Build • opportunities. • Review RFPs in detail and identify areas of concerns for review by Account • Executive or Director of Sales Engineering. • Submit technical RFIs during bid process as needed. • Review architectural, electrical, and mechanical documentation related to • infrastructure and equipment installation requirements. • Provide consistent quality deliverables to the Account Executives to be included • in proposals: • Detailed Equipment Bill of Materials with Pricing • Miscellaneous Materials Estimate • Detailed Labor Estimate • Technical Scope of Work/Bid Response/Functional Summary (as applicable) • Provide plan markups in Bluebeam and/or CAD to specify/coordinate • infrastructure requirements for Architect/Customer and for internal handoff to • Design Engineer after contract award. • Participate in internal kick-off meetings with the assigned Project Team after • contract award and provide knowledge transfer to assigned Design Engineer. • Maintain communication with Design Engineer and review Drawing Package • submittals prior to system implementation to ensure design intent is met and • discuss issues/changes/etc. • Participate in vendor product demonstrations/trainings in local office and/or • remotely when hosted in other territory office locations. • Maintain relationship with manufacturer representatives and vendor partners. Complexity: The SE will receive new Engineering Support Request assignments through the Sales Support Group which consists of non-technical and technical personnel that will work as a team to support the Account Executives on larger opportunities. For multi-million[1]dollar opportunities, an additional SE or Subject Matter Expert (SME) may be requested to join the team in order to formalize a complete and thorough bid response. The SE will also maintain communication with Technical Operations to ensure specified equipment and solutions designed are supported. Decision Making Authority: The SE is responsible for specifying the equipment and services required for a complete solution. The SE is encouraged to recommend strategies for differentiating Diversified from competition in competitive situations. Technical reviews by management will occur on a case-by-case basis and almost always for high profile and/or multi-million-dollar opportunities. Physical Working Environment: Work will be performed within normal office conditions and/or home office depending on the location of SE. Will be required to attend in-person Customer meetings and perform site surveys on occasion. What do we require from you? How You’ll Contribute A Media Sr Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for the scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction of a project throughout its entire lifecycle, from Initiation through Closing phases. However, the PM depends on the help of other people to perform most of the actual activities of the project. A project manager’s role is primarily focused around written and verbal communication to all project stakeholders. The PM is responsible for overseeing and performing project management functions on all Broadcast projects, budgets, and scopes. The SPM will act as the person responsible for their assigned projects and have direct control over all project activities. Daily activities include project communications, scheduling, task lists for team participants, managing deliverables from the consulting team, and overseeing the completion of projects. The PM is responsible for completing consulting projects on time, on budget and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction from our customers. Most of this employee's time will be spent managing projects and communicating with all project stakeholders. This person will be helping to constantly improve the established Diversified processes. As the primary interface to the client, the project manager develops a strong long-term relationship. They manage the client relationship, including expectations, communications, and satisfaction. What You’ll Do • Provides clear leadership and ownership for the project within Diversified, including accurate and timely verbal and written communication and follow up. • Coordinates all activities associated with the timely, accurate and on-budget completion of the project, including engaging stakeholders, delegating responsibilities clearly and running client and internal project meetings. • Provides support and assistance to team members as needed in order help them be successful and get the job done. • Ensures appropriate and frequent communication between stakeholders. • Resolves destructive conflict. • Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams regarding Media and Entertainment’s consulting projects • Assumes ownership of individual projects and assignments • Establishes and maintains communication with Account Executives, Directors, internal and external consultants and subject matter experts, clients, etc. • Develops and communicates project updates as required. • Provides constant monitoring of labor budgets. • Provides and/or directs technical and administrative support to project team members. Develops and maintains all related project schedules. • Coordinates all deliverable documentation between all internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate and directs document reviews to assure proper documentation is delivered to the client. Provides punch-list of remaining tasks after substantial completion. • Contracts with contractors when necessary. • Monitors status of projects including cost, timing, and staffing to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects. • Ensure quality and continuous improvement. • Coordinates transition of projects to later phase project teams. Complexity Every project is different, and project stakeholders are different. The SPM needs to negotiate a very complex set of variables between discovery, analysis, conceptual design, and a widely varying set of expectations with multiple stakeholders. The skill of communicating both verbally and in writing to manage all these variables takes a very high level of awareness, emotional intelligence, and people management skills. The PM is constantly managing the forces of change in every project environment. Balancing schedules, budgets, scope, quality, and client satisfaction are a very complex set of variables. Decision Making Authority • Takes full ownership of project • Acts as the single point of responsibility and accountability for the project. • Ensures schedule performance, quality of solution delivered to client, and client satisfaction. • Manages and reports on the project’s financials, including ensuring budget performance and profitability. Ensure timely and correct billings to client. • Demonstrates proactivity, responsiveness, and follow through. • Communicates decision options to stakeholders and manages those decisions. • Manages a complex array of decisions at every point of the project but is rarely the sole decision maker. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. The employee will experience normal office conditions and be required to use office equipment such as computers, peripherals, etc. Travel Some travel by car and occasional airplane trips should be expected as much of our consulting work is conducted remotely with occasional in-person meetings. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence. Employee will be required to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate. 10% remote travel is not unusual. Safety When meeting a client in person, Diversified requires PMs to ensure the team is conducting themselves in a safe manner and adheres to our site visit requirements. This may include: • Maintain and wear appropriate PPE as the job and tasks require it. • Ensure hazards are addressed and rectified in a timely manner. • Participate in incident investigations and reporting. • Conduct safety walk-throughs on project sites. • Prepare safety paperwork as needed including but not limited to JSA, and Site safety Plans. What do we require from you? Education/Certifications • A PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is desired. • Other relevant certifications may be required or preferred based on the technology focus of the position. This includes Certified Scrum Master (CSM), demonstrated knowledge of Agile project management, software project management, program management, organizational change, management, and possibly cloud technologies. Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience And Skills • 5+ years of experience as a project manager in media technology projects, especially in consulting. • Knowledgeable of broadcast operations and technologies. • Comfortable with hardware and software-based solutions. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Supervisory and people skills. • Ability to manage design/build projects for the Media business unit when not managing consulting projects. • The Project Manager shall have the ability and skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical, political and people related problems. Formats include high-definition, UHD and HDR video systems deployed using analog, SDI and SMPTE 2110 IP transport protocols. • Understanding of TCP/IP routing, ACL’s, QoS, VLAN’s and Wireless Access Points. • Certified Scrum Master = a definite plus. • Proven track record of successfully completing engineering projects. • A clear understanding of project phases Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction and Commissioning. • A thorough, demonstrable understanding of the consulting process including discovery, business analysis, gap analysis, workflow documentation, conceptual system diagrams, and development of roadmaps, presentations, and written narratives for project findings. How You’ll Contribute: The Diversified Service Sales Executive role is directly responsible for direct to end customer and internal channel sales for managed services offerings. His/her role is to sell direct to end customer and provide sales support to the larger Diversified account teams to pursue, estimate /price/quote and close service opportunities. The scope of sales includes Support Agreements, Managed Service Contracts, and Dedicated Staffing engagements. The Service Sales Specialist must be able to articulate offerings and product positioning to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all relevant issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. What You’ll Do: • Work directly with RVPs, Regional Directors and AEs in designated regions to drive service revenue • Work with AE’s with a focus on landing new service contracts • Prospect into net new clients to drive service revenue • Meet with Clients to understand service needs, develop comprehensive service response, and close service opportunities. • Gather vendor and sub-contractor quotes for extended warranties, site support, etc, especially as these pertain to highly complex and/or bespoke hardware or sub-systems • Respond to client-initiated RFPs with the relevant AE • Raise RFIs • Attend meetings, site surveys and interviews • Put together complete RFP response • Strategize with AE on how to close the business • Work with DGS leadership on strategic pricing • Review calculations for client quotations, negotiate tender and contract terms, negotiate and close sales by agreeing terms and conditions in conjunction with other sales support personnel as well as the Account Executive they are supporting. • Provide monthly reporting to Service leadership and Regional Sales leaders • Ensure all opportunities are tracked in CRM • Assist with the creation of templates, documents to be posted on Internal Knowledge Base. • Flexible schedule.
