The Opportunity The newly created Director of Content role represents an exciting next chapter in DickersonBakker’s growth story. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this leader will develop and execute a unified content strategy that amplifies our brand voice, drives qualified leads, and fuels demand generation across all service lines—including Fundraising Solutions, Campaign Services, Grant Solutions, and Talent Solutions. The Director of Content will blend strategic storytelling with data-driven marketing—crafting the right message for the right audience at the right time throughout the entire funnel. This person will collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and service line leaders to produce compelling content and campaigns that both educate and convert, positioning DickersonBakker as the trusted growth partner for nonprofits. In this high-impact role, the Director will serve as both strategist and creator—shaping messaging, managing cross-functional campaigns, and overseeing a small but dynamic team of marketers and creative partners. They will also play a key role in leading DB’s upcoming brand repositioning and website redesign, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects the firm’s excellence, clarity, and values. Key Responsibilities Content Strategy & Leadership Develop and own an enterprise-wide content strategy that aligns with the Growth Team’s demand generation goals. Build and manage an integrated editorial calendar that drives awareness, nurtures leads, and supports sales enablement. Oversee the Marketing Manager and creative contractors to ensure consistent, high-quality, on-brand content delivery. Lead the full transition of brand repositioning across all materials, messaging, and channels. Oversee the website redesign, optimizing for conversion, lead flow, and user experience. Campaign Development & Execution Partner with the Marketing Manager to design and execute multi-channel campaigns that drive qualified leads and engagement. Create strategic content offers and lead magnets—such as guides, webinars, reports, and case studies—optimized for conversion. Leverage SEO, GEO, and analytics to continually refine and enhance content performance and ROI. Write, edit, and oversee the creation of thought leadership, landing pages, emails, and campaign assets that embody DickersonBakker’s voice and values. Sales Enablement Oversee the Sales Enablement Specialist to ensure compelling proposals, presentations, and materials are developed for prospective clients. Collaborate with service line leaders to translate their expertise into market-facing content that differentiates DB’s offerings. Equip sales teams with messaging, decks, and case studies to support growth and revenue goals. Results & Analytics Define and track KPIs for all content initiatives, including engagement rates, lead conversion, and campaign ROI. Use analytics to identify high-performing content and replicate success across service lines. Regularly evaluate campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies for optimal results. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field or equivalent experience. 5-7+ years of progressive content marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a demand generation or growth marketing capacity. Proven ability to plan, produce, and optimize content that generates leads and drives revenue. Experience managing workflows, calendars, and campaigns in CRM/marketing automation platforms (HubSpot preferred). Strong understanding of inbound marketing, SEO, GEO, and conversion copywriting. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with an eye for both creativity and precision. Experience with Salesforce, Power BI, and HubSpot is ideal. Experience in or a passion for serving the nonprofit or faith-based sector strongly preferred. Reports To: Account Director, Fundraising Solutions Location: Remote (within the continental U.S.) — candidates in Eastern and Central time zones highly desirable. Option to work out of our Raleigh office if preferred. Salary Range: $68,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with experience) + benefitsPosition Overview The Account Manager plays a key role in supporting DickersonBakker’s Fundraising Solutions clients through the effective execution of multi-channel direct response fundraising programs. This position is responsible for day-to-day client communication, campaign coordination, and delivery of high-quality fundraising initiatives that drive measurable results. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment serving nonprofit organizations.Key Responsibilities Account Management Manage day-to-day responsibilities associated with assigned clients’ direct response fundraising programs. Demonstrate a strong understanding of CRM, digital, data, and direct response marketing strategies, along with the client’s mission and objectives. Participate in annual planning, budgeting, and project meetings. Support the Account Director and SVP in preparing annual and seasonal marketing plans, results reviews, QBRs, and client presentations. Coordinate with the Project Manager to provide documentation for pricing worksheets and billing. Build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients, understanding their goals and ensuring alignment with DB’s services. Handle administrative tasks, including maintaining client files, processing paperwork, capturing meeting notes, and drafting creative briefs. Oversee direct response fundraising projects from launch through completion to ensure timely, accurate delivery within the defined scope. Keep Account Director informed on project status, solicit input, and identify opportunities to enhance client outcomes and team efficiency. Creative Development Serve as the primary point of contact for client creative review and approval. Approve key creative components before client submission to ensure alignment with strategy and brand voice. Oversee review cycles for print and digital deliverables, including proofs, test sends, and final sign-offs. Manage the release of art to production and oversee the inspection and distribution of client samples. Data & Analytics Collaborate with Project Management and Data teams to develop and update data processing instructions and mail matrices. Ensure accuracy of data files, campaign specifications, and reporting documentation. Perform quality control checks, including data counts, personalization, and insertion sign-offs. Partner with the Account Director and SVP to assist with campaign analysis and performance reporting. Support the preparation of QBR presentations and milestone reporting materials that showcase outcomes and insights. Required Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of direct response fundraising and/or marketing. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; basic understanding of data analytics. Experience with Asana and Power BI is highly desirable. Resourceful, proactive self-starter with the ability to take initiative and follow through on projects from concept to completion. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent experience. 2–3+ years of experience in direct response marketing and/or fundraising. 2–3+ years of account management experience with proven success in client relations. Agency experience strongly preferred; startup or fast-growth environment experience a plus. Project management experience (formal or informal) preferred.
