Primary Job Responsibilities • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders to support retention and account growth. • Serves as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring client needs are met and expectations exceeded. • Identifies opportunities to expand services and deepen engagement with existing clients. • Represents the company at client meetings, conferences, and industry events as a trusted and knowledgeable partner. • Presents data, insights, and recommendations that demonstrate measurable value and align with client priorities. • Collaborates with internal teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of client objectives and program initiatives. • Supports the development of strategies for new and renewal business, including proposal and presentation preparation. • Proactively anticipates client needs, resolves issues efficiently, and maintains high levels of satisfaction. Minimum Requirements: Position requires a bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, or a related field and three years of experience in account management, client relations, or business development. Prior experience within healthcare, managed care, or a related industry is preferred. Will accept a suitable combination of education and experience. Position requires strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills; the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with clients and internal partners; and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, or other Government Programs is preferred. Position Description Accountable for supporting financial performance, client retention, key relationships, and contract management across respective book-of-business. Primary Job Responsibilities • Supports the achievement of P&L target(s) for Government Programs health plan-related business and client-aligned financial performance goals. • Maintains meaningful and value-driven relationships with clients, vendors, agents, consultants, community stakeholders, and internal staff. • Acts in a consultative role to provide ongoing training and education to clients regarding new value-add service offerings, market updates, innovative benefit approaches, and other retention-based strategies aligned to Government Programs. • Develops, reviews, and presents data to demonstrate value of Delta Dental through product innovation, unique service offerings, enhanced benefits, cost savings, and other markers important to the client and their respective program(s). • Analyzes new requests by engaging with internal and external contacts to review, assess, solution, and deliver results that achieve business goals in alignment with the Government Programs business model. • Provides regular updates to senior management on issues affecting sales and retention. • Builds and maintains relationships with key decision-making individuals at each client/prospect to ensure retention of current client base and development of new opportunities, including regular engagement via individual calls, meetings, benefit conferences, entertainment, and special events. • Supports strategies associated with acquiring new Government Program business. • Aligns job prioritization with short- and long-term strategies, goals, and objectives across broader corporate strategy. • Supports in implementing network, product, and service development strategies that meet client needs. • Participates in business and professional organizations to develop relationships, improve knowledge base, and represent Delta Dental brand. Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above. Minimum Requirements: Position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, marketing or a related field and five years of experience in sales, servicing of large group accounts, or client-facing operations. Direct experience managing Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, or similar state and/or federal contracts is preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. Position requires advanced knowledge of the insurance industry, the organization’s products, services, markets, customers, competitors, opportunities, and challenges; strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to represent and present on behalf of the organization internally and externally; the ability to identify, partner with, and persuade key decision makers and other stakeholders; experience working with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications; and the ability to resolve complex problems using independent judgment. Operation of a motor vehicle is necessary to properly implement and service groups.
