Coordinate and process payroll tasks including timesheet review, payroll data accuracy, tax and deduction management, and termination pay distribution. | Associate degree or equivalent experience with 6-12 months related payroll experience and preferred PeopleSoft 8.0+ knowledge. | Job Description The Payroll Administrator is primarily responsible for the coordination of all tasks related to payroll processing including review and balancing of weekly time files, maintaining employee data including direct deposit accounts, miscellaneous payroll deductions, and tax withholding. The Payroll Administrator will also distribute checks for missing and termination pay and will be the first point of contact for managers and employees for all matters related to payroll. The Essentials • Compiles and processes payroll data such as timesheets, additional pay requests, garnishments, direct deposit, and tax withholding changes in order to ensure accurate payment to employees. • Reviews and balances weekly time files and computes and corrects errors to ensure the accuracy of wages computed. • Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments and locations. • Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions. • Researches and resolves payroll-related questions and issues. • Process terminations in accordance with state regulations; Prepares and issues payments for missing and termination pay. Scope • Follows standardized processes and procedures to complete most responsibilities; may be depended on to weigh alternatives and choose the best solution or course of action. • Utilizes information that is typically straight-forward and readily available; may be asked to perform further research (independently or under general supervision) and/or complete light analysis. • Works under regular supervision, but is expected to take independent action when appropriate. • May coordinate tasks of others in similar roles or coordinate across functional areas, departments, or with vendors. • Works with supervisor to determine short-term priorities; primary goals directly align to and support department’s short-term objectives. Credentials • Associate's degree (A. Key Responsibilities • Provide outstanding guest service to HRIS end users by providing a high level of support and troubleshooting issues. • Ensures HR databases are maintained with accurate and up-to-date information through data entry, file transfers, and regular audits. • Regularly conducts group and one-on-one training on HR systems with end users in person, via conference call, and/or via webinar. • Generates and distributes accurate, relevant routine and ad hoc HR reports from the HRIS, ATS, Onboarding, TMS and Third Party Vendor systems. Develops a thorough understanding of metrics reported in order to check for reasonability, answer questions, identify issues, and conduct further research if necessary. • Creates and maintains HR Department metrics reports. Identifies trends and makes recommendations for as appropriate. • Implements proposed and/or enacted regulatory changes (i.e. wage verifications, changes in benefits laws) across all HR Systems. • Works closely with subject-matter experts to gather information necessary to perform thorough analyses. • Conducts regular audits of systems configurations to ensure compliance. • Completes and submits HR-related benchmarking surveys. • Analyzes results of comparisons and surveys and develops specific recommendations for review by management. Day in the life… • * Works with HRIS Manager, vendors, and IT team to develop, update, test, and modify codes, tables, and reports in various HR systems, including ERP, Applicant Tracking, Onboarding, Performance Management, and other HR systems. • Under the direction of the HRIS Manager, demonstrates strong project management skills in the implementation of new and/or upgraded HR systems. • Partners with HRIS Manager, vendors, IT team, and end users to research and resolve routine and complex issues related to various HR systems and reporting. • Recommends system design changes and upgrades based on efficiency of current system, feedback from end users, and business objectives. • Participates in the design, installation, testing, and documentation of new systems and integrations with other systems. • Works with IT team to identify and develop enhancements and improvements to reporting, queries or third party integrations. • Follows established protocols for assessing requested HRIS updates, making updates to configuration, performing testing, and communicating changes to stakeholders. Education, Experience, Required Skills • Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and demonstrated proficiency with HR systems is required. • Workday (required) • UKG (preferred) • Position also requires exceptional attention to detail, solid organizational skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely, outstanding guest focus, and strong analytical ability.
