As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you will be involved in the design and development of our business applications supporting veterinary customers, pharmacy, warehouse/supply chain and customer service. Using the Agile methodology, you will work with product and engineering in the development of features for new and existing products and will interface with your team daily to offer guidance and support on industry best practices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Design, development, maintenance, and delivery of technical platforms for several business applications spanning veterinary customers, pharmacy, warehouse/supply chain and customer service · Create working software based on an understanding of business and technical priorities · Contribute to the adoption of development best practices and new technologies · Contribute to the architecture and design of our new platform EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE · Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science and/or related years of experience · 5+ years of professional software engineering experience COMPETENCIES · Experience building large scale services supporting web applications · Stays current of new technology developments and examines opportunities to apply the new technology advancements where appropriate. · Knowledge and experience with an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java) · Knowledge and experience with a modern scripting language (preferably JavaScript) · Knowledge and experience with a modern web application framework (preferably Spring MVC) · Knowledge and experience with a modern UI framework (preferably React or Angular) · Knowledge of cloud technology and distributed computing (AWS, REST, AMQP, JMS, Microservices) · Knowledge and experience with Git · Experience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) · Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) · Proven ability to execute problem-solving skills · Proficient in writing SQL queries · Proficient in modern DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Kafka, git, etc.) · Proficient in modern product development methodologies (preferably Scrum) · Proficient in effective troubleshooting and issue resolution techniques · Proficient in effective log analysis and system monitoring techniques (preferably Splunk & Dynatrace) · Capable of understanding complicated systems quickly Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case. However, the pay range for this position is as follows.
