The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. Role Scope The Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Contingent Worker role has leadership and strategic responsibility within Corning's Global Supply Management (GSM) Professional Services sourcing organization. Responsible to ensure that Corning obtains the maximum value (price, quality, service) from services procured in the Professional Services space. A key owner of setting functional activities and strategies to support industry and supplier research, supplier selection processes, including the establishment of category councils, supplier performance management, negotiation, contingent workforce planning and strategy, and management of Professional Services contracts. Responsibilities - Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for Professional Services procurement, driving value across supplier spend exceeding $100M annually. Oversee contingent workforce planning to ensure flexibility and alignment with organizational goals. - Category Management: Lead all aspects of category management, including supplier market analysis, bid preparation, pricing and term negotiations, supplier selection, and performance management. Collaborate on contingent workforce strategies to balance cost-effectiveness and compliance. - Vendor Management Systems (VMS): Drive implementation, optimization, and management of VMS tools to enhance visibility, compliance, and efficiency in sourcing and workforce planning. Partner with suppliers and internal teams to integrate VMS into procurement workflows. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead global cross-functional teams to support category management and drive alignment across business units. Provide strategic direction to address supplier challenges and enhance product and market knowledge. - Cost Optimization: Implement programs to deliver savings and process improvements across the supply chain, including contingent workforce planning. Role Purpose This position involves supporting and supervising the Supply Chain Procurement team to optimize the use of equipment, materials, and manpower while providing excellent customer service.
