Lead the comprehensive information security program across AppSec, CloudSec, SecOps, and GRC to reduce organizational risk. | Over 10 years in information security with 5+ years leading teams and 2+ years managing managers, plus deep cloud expertise and compliance experience. | Collectors is the leading creator of innovative technology that provides value-added services for collectors worldwide. We grade, authenticate, vault, and sell millions of record-setting collectibles, all while modernizing and digitalizing the process to further our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our growing team. Our services span collectible trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder. Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 3000 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, California and offices in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Japan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and France. As part of our interview process, we request that candidates have their cameras on during video interviews. This helps foster meaningful conversation and allows us to create an experience that closely resembles our standard working environment. Certain interview steps may take place by phone. For remote roles, and at our discretion, candidates may be asked to participate in an on-site interview as part of the final stages of the process. We understand there may be occasional circumstances requiring accommodation and are happy to discuss them as needed. Your recruiter will be able to clarify expectations and answer any questions you have. We’re transforming the collecting experience with technology that brings authentication, grading, and trading into the modern era. Our products are equalizing the playing field by providing tools that make complex research analytics — including pricing, scarcity reports, and historic sales data — accessible to every collector, old or new. Our engineering mission is to democratize technology while promoting innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning throughout the organization. We're seeking engineers to utilize advanced technology in agile settings, with a focus on improving the customer experience for every collector. We’re looking for an Information Security Director to join our Cybersecurity team to prioritize the right risks for the organization and partner with cross functional stakeholders to ensure security is incorporated into all aspects of the business. You’ll report to the VP of Engineering, Information Security and Platforms. Collectors is committed to utilize cybersecurity, risk and privacy best practices across our environment to protect our customers, employees and our brand. Remote or hybrid candidates will also be considered. We believe that there is significant value in in-person collaboration. If you live within a 1 hour commuting distance to one of our offices, you will be required to be onsite most of the time. This will be discussed further as part of the recruiting process. What You’ll Do: Lead the information security program across application security, cloud security, security operations, and GRC, serving as the operational leader responsible for refining and driving the information security roadmap into executed outcomes. We’re focused on ensuring that we’re prioritizing risk reduction over checkbox security and proactively incorporating emerging threats and trends. Own the security operations function, including detection and response, threat intelligence, incident management, and SOC maturity, ensuring the organization can rapidly identify, contain, and recover from security events. Drive the application security program, embedding secure development practices, code analysis tooling, and vulnerability management into the SDLC in close partnership with product and platform engineering teams. Establish and mature cloud security capabilities, defining and enforcing security standards across cloud environments including architecture review, configuration management, workload protection, and cloud-native detection and response. Oversee governance, risk, and compliance activities, including regulatory and framework alignment (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, HITRUST, or similar), risk assessment processes, policy lifecycle management, and audit coordination. Partner with Internal Platform teams to define and implement appropriate security guardrails within the environment. Build and maintain the organization's security risk register, providing the stakeholders with clear, data-informed visibility into the threat landscape, control gaps, and residual risk across the enterprise. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, IT, legal, and privacy stakeholders to embed security into organizational processes and decision-making rather than operating as a gatekeeping function. Define and track security KPIs and program metrics — such as mean time to detect/respond, vulnerability remediation SLAs, and compliance posture — to measure program effectiveness and define target risk postures across applications. Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing security organization, managing team leads across multiple disciplines, investing in professional development, and building a culture that balances security rigor with operational pragmatism. Who You Are: An experienced security leader with 10+ years in information security, including 5+ years leading security teams across multiple disciplines and at least 2+ years managing managers or cross-functional security functions. Broad and deep across the security domain. You've built or matured programs spanning AppSec, CloudSec, SecOps/IR, and GRC — and you're comfortable operating across all of them without losing depth in any single area. Strong in security operations and incident response. You've led or directly overseen SOC teams, detection engineering, and incident response processes, and you understand what it takes to build a mature, metrics-driven detection and response capability. Technically credible in cloud and application security. You have hands-on familiarity with securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), modern application architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and container-based workloads, and you can engage meaningfully with engineering teams on technical trade-offs. Well-versed in governance and compliance frameworks. You've led organizations through SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, HITRUST, or similar frameworks and can manage audit cycles and regulatory requirements without letting compliance become the sole definition of security. A strategic partner to the CISO. You're skilled at operationalizing security strategy, translating executive-level priorities into roadmaps and team-level execution, and surfacing risk with clarity and context. Collaborative by default. You build productive relationships with engineering, IT, legal, and privacy teams, and you approach security as an enabling function rather than a blocker — while still holding firm on non-negotiable standards. Metrics-oriented and outcome-driven. You use data to measure program health, prioritize investment, and communicate risk to technical and non-technical audiences alike. A strong people leader and culture builder. You attract and retain top security talent across disciplines, create clear career pathways, and foster an environment where analysts, engineers, and GRC professionals all feel ownership over the mission. A clear, confident communicator who can brief executives on risk posture, walk engineering teams through threat models, and represent the security organization in cross-functional forums with equal effectiveness. Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $212,000 to $312,000. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set. We understand there may be occasional circumstances requiring accommodation and are happy to discuss them as needed. Your recruiter will be able to clarify expectations and answer any questions you have. About the Role We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Payments team — a critical engineering domain responsible for building, scaling, and evolving the payments infrastructure that powers every transaction across the Collectors ecosystem. This team owns the full lifecycle of payment capabilities: integrating with and abstracting across multiple payment gateway providers (including Stripe and PayPal), supporting payment methods spanning credit card, ACH, and digital wallets, and building both the APIs that downstream services depend on and the web application experiences that customers and internal tools rely on. You will work across backend APIs and modern frontend surfaces, partnering with product, design, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure payment experiences This is a high-impact, high-visibility role. Payments is the financial backbone of our marketplace — touching grading order checkout, vault and consignment transactions, partner payouts, and customer wallet top-ups. You will have direct influence over architecture decisions, gateway integrations, and the quality bar for everything that ships. We believe there is significant value in onsite partnership and team collaboration, and candidates within 1-hour commuting distance of the office may be expected to work onsite most of the time. Additional details will be discussed during the recruiting process. What You’ll Do Build and evolve multi-gateway payment integrations: Design, implement, and maintain integrations with multiple payment gateway providers — including Stripe, PayPal, and others — building clean abstractions that minimize disruption when adding or swapping gateways, while owning payment flows end-to-end from initiation through settlement, refund, and reconciliation. Deliver full-stack payment experiences: Develop backend payment services and APIs in C#/.NET while building intuitive customer-facing experiences in React, Svelte, and TypeScript that power checkout and payment management, collaborating closely with design and product to ensure every flow is accessible and conversion-optimized. Champion security, compliance, and resilience: Apply PCI-DSS best practices and resilient design patterns — including tokenization, idempotency, retries, and audit controls — to ensure secure and reliable payment processing at scale, partnering with Security and Compliance teams to maintain and advance our certifications. Take an AI-first approach to building: Leverage AI-assisted development tools throughout the software lifecycle to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and evolve engineering best practices. Architect for scale and observability: Design and operate distributed, event-driven services on AWS and Kubernetes, using metrics, tracing, and alerting to maintain highly availability and accelerate incident response. Drive cross-functional execution: Translate business requirements into technical solutions and partner across Payments, Marketplace, Grading, Vault, and platform teams to deliver seamless payment experiences that connect the Collectors ecosystem. Who You Are 6+ years engineering experience. You have a track record of designing, shipping, and scaling products that have measurable business impact. Ideally 2+ years operating as a Senior IC or equivalent technical leadership level at a high-growth company or a scaled consumer platform. Deep backend expertise in C# (.NET). You’re comfortable owning complex API surfaces, async patterns, and data consistency in distributed systems. Frontend range in React, Svelte, and TypeScript. You build clean, responsive payment UIs and understand the nuances of state management, form handling, and secure client-side data flows. Strong fundamentals working with databases and data modeling, both relational (e.g. PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g. DynamoDB). You're comfortable designing schemas, writing efficient queries, and choosing the right storage layer for the problem. Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies. You're comfortable working in iterative delivery cycles, participating in sprint planning, and adapting quickly to changing priorities. Payments or fintech experience. You understand gateway integrations, idempotency, webhook reliability, tokenization, and PCI compliance in production environments. Distributed-systems depth. You’ve designed and operated microservices and Kafka-based event-driven architectures, run workloads on Kubernetes, and know your way around the AWS ecosystem. AI-first engineer. You build with AI tooling across the SDLC — from planning and code generation to review and debugging. You have a clear, practiced point of view on how AI raises the quality bar and accelerates delivery. Observability-first mindset. You instrument what you ship using Datadog or similar tools. You're comfortable building dashboards, setting up monitoring/alerting, and using distributed tracing to debug production issues. Security-minded. You treat payment security as a first-class engineering concern, not an afterthought. Influential communicator. A strong written and verbal communicator with sharp analytical and troubleshooting instincts — you align engineers, product partners, and stakeholders without direct authority, make crisp calls, and bring people with you. Bias for ownership. You have an extreme ownership mindset and will wear any hat required to get the job done. You thrive in a fast-moving, self-directed environment — you set the bar, hold it, and take full accountability for outcomes. Passion for collecting is a plus. Your recruiter will be able to clarify expectations and answer any questions you have. About the Role We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build the PSA Liquidity Platform — the product suite that connects supply and demand across our marketplace, including PSA Partner Offers and our eBay Consignment platform. PSA Partner Offers is a first-party marketplace that sources offers from our network of buyers and surfaces them as instant, targeted offers to grading and vault customers. Our eBay consignment business allows customers to seamlessly sell on the world's largest marketplace while we handle every step of fulfillment as eBay's official vault partner. You'll own the technical design and delivery of the end-to-end buyer and seller experiences, partnering with a dedicated cross-functional team (business, product, engineering, design, data) to seamlessly connect supply and demand. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role on our Marketplace engineering team, building systems that maximize GMV, conversion, and offer-to-sale velocity at scale. We believe there is significant value in onsite partnership and team collaboration, and candidates within 1-hour commuting distance of the office may be expected to work onsite most of the time. Additional details will be discussed during the recruiting process. What You'll Do Build powerful buyer tooling. Lead development of our next-generation buyer platform: targeting, campaign management, budget controls, and analytics that let every type of buyer — from individual collectors to large-scale dealers — discover and acquire the right cards at scale. Build and optimize the matching engine. Partner with Engineering and AI/ML to build a sophisticated, real-time targeting and ranking engine that maximizes GMV, conversion, and offer-to-sale velocity across channels. Architect for scale. Design and operate microservices and distributed, event-driven systems that power instant, accurate offers across millions of collectibles — with the low latency and reliability our customers expect. You'll make pragmatic, high-conviction architecture calls and own the quality of what you ship across the full stack. Elevate the seller experience. Make it effortless for sellers to understand their options, price their items accurately, and complete a sale with minimal friction. Take an AI-first approach to building. Use AI tooling across the development lifecycle to move faster and raise quality, and bring a strong point of view on how AI changes the way we design, build, and operate software. Own outcomes end-to-end. Take projects from 0 to 1 — from an ambiguous problem to a shipped, instrumented, production product — and wear whatever hat the moment requires, whether that's frontend, backend, infrastructure, or data. Drive cross-functional execution. Translate strategy into clear technical plans, specs, and user stories. Coordinate delivery across dedicated and partner engineering teams, and keep stakeholders aligned and projects moving. Connect the ecosystem. Ensure seamless liquidity handoffs across the broader PSA enterprise, from Grading to Collection Management to Vaulting, reducing friction and resolving cross-system dependencies that span payments, logistics, and risk. Communicate with clarity at every level. From executive reviews to engineering standups, synthesize complexity, articulate tradeoffs, and bring people with you — clearly, in writing and in person. Who You Are 6+ years engineering experience. You have a track record of designing, shipping, and scaling products 0-to-1 that have measurable business impact. Ideally 2+ years operating as a Senior IC or equivalent technical leadership level at a high-growth company or a scaled consumer platform. Full-stack range. We understand there may be occasional circumstances requiring accommodation and are happy to discuss them as needed. We believe that there is significant value in in-person collaboration. If you live within a 1-hour commuting distance to one of our offices, you will be required to be onsite most of the time. This will be discussed further as part of the recruiting process. What You’ll Do Lead Recruiting Strategy Domestically & Internationally Own and scale a high-volume hiring engine delivering 500+ hires annually across production operations, grading & authentication, and core evergreen roles—encompassing both full-time employees and contingent workforce Lead a full revamp of recruiting operations with a design mindset: work in partnership with our Senior People Operations Program Manager & Contingent Worker Program Manager to rebuild workflows and processes from the ground up to optimize speed, quality, and candidate experience at scale. Ensure we have the right overall strategy and processes for contingent workforce hiring. Build a “perpetual motion” talent pipeline—implementing always-on sourcing strategies, campus and community partnerships, and innovative programs that shift the function from reactive to proactive. Develop and execute international recruiting strategy, working alongside local recruiters and Country managers to design scalable hiring infrastructure that supports the business across global sites as Collectors continues to expand. Serve as a trusted analytics resource to executive leadership, delivering clear, actionable reporting and insight. Executive Stakeholder & Vendor Management Partner at the executive level with senior business leaders across Operations, Finance, and HR to forecast hiring needs and align staffing strategies with company priorities. Serve as the primary point of contact for all operations-related hiring with strong executive presence, clear communication, and proactive risk management. Who You Are Experience & Track Record 10+ years of recruiting experience with a strong focus on high-volume or operations-based hiring; 5+ years leading recruiting teams.
