As Senior Manager of Content Marketing, you'll write the content that introduces security teams to Cogent and carries them through a buying decision: blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, research reports, social series, and scripts for short video. This is a writing-heavy role. Most of your week goes to interviewing experts, drafting, and shipping. The rest goes to making sure the work gets found in search, AI answers, and social. You'll take raw material (product insight, original research, customer outcomes, breaking security news) and turn it into content that security practitioners read and share. What You'll Do Content Production Write the blog posts, whitepapers, and ebooks that build awareness with security practitioners and engage buyers at each stage of the buying process. Interview Cogent's researchers, engineers, and field team for raw material, and get every technical detail right. React fast when security news breaks: write and ship the POV piece while the story still matters. Social & Video Execute Cogent's social strategy: regular series (weekly VM insights, AI security myths, remediation playbooks) that keep a steady drumbeat of Cogent's point of view in front of practitioners. Write scripts for short videos and explainers, and work with contractors who shoot and edit them. Search & AEO Run the SEO and AEO program: research what buyers search for and ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude, then structure each piece so it ranks and gets cited. Track how your content performs in search and AI answers, and refresh the pieces that slip. Research & Story Packaging Work with the research team on Cogent's flagship research report: dig into the data, shape the findings into a story, and write the report. Project manage the report through launch, then turn it into derivative content: blog series, social posts, short video, and sales assets. Repurpose the strongest research, product insight, and customer stories in Cogent's library into formats that reach new audiences. AI-Native Production Use AI across your workflow (research synthesis, drafting, editing, repurposing) to ship at the pace of a small team without losing accuracy or voice. Build systems that make the work faster, like prompt libraries, voice guides, and a living archive of positioning, proof, and research. What We're Looking For Must-Have 5-7 years in B2B content roles, with at least three of them writing for security practitioners and buyers. Excellent writing and editorial judgment. You can explain complex security topics simply and credibly. A track record of content that earned attention: organic traffic and rankings, citations in AI answers, social engagement, and downloads of long-form assets. Hands-on SEO and AEO experience, with tools like Semrush, GA4, Profound, and AirOps. You've shipped at a fast-moving company without a big team behind you. Fluent with AI in the actual work. You can walk through a content workflow you built, where it broke, and what you changed. Nice-to-Have Experience writing about vulnerability management, exposure management (CTEM), AppSec, cloud security, or AI in security operations. Experience writing or project managing a research report (threat report, benchmark, or survey) and turning it into a campaign's worth of derivative content. Production ability beyond writing: short video, explainers, visual assets, or the judgment to direct contractors who make them. Experience growing a practitioner audience on LinkedIn. Why Cogent Cogent is redefining how AI can proactively defend organizations against evolving threats. Our mission is to empower security teams with cutting-edge AI agents and clear, actionable insights. You'll join a world-class GTM team where your work directly impacts the safety of some of the world's most sophisticated organizations.

As the founding content leader, you'll own how Cogent sounds: the editorial point of view, the executive and founder voice, and the research and stories we put into the world. You'll take raw material (product insight, original research, customer outcomes) and turn it into content that travels and moves pipeline. This is a builder's seat. Production runs on AI, contractors, and a small team, so you set the editorial standard, orchestrate the output, and still write the pieces that matter yourself. A separate Director of Communications owns press and analyst relations; you build the material worth covering, they land it. What You'll Do Narrative & Content Strategy Own Cogent's content engine end to end:the calendar, and content series that compound over time (weekly VM insights, AI security myths, remediation playbooks) across LinkedIn-first social, blog, video, and long-form. Own SEO and AEO so the work gets found by the buyers and by the models that now shape how people discover it. Tie content to pipeline. Track which pieces move deals and do more of what works. Content Production Write the top- and middle-of-funnel pieces that pull practitioners in and move buyers toward a decision: blog posts, ebooks, and whitepapers. Own the social strategy: regular series and point-in-time posts that keep a steady drumbeat of Cogent's point of view in front of practitioners. Executive & Founder Voice Ghostwrite for the CEO, CTO, and technical leaders with a real point of view and a consistent voice. Build repeatable systems to capture raw material: leader interviews, Slack mining, call notes, research briefs. Turn that raw material into thought leadership that security practitioners actually read and share. Research & Story Packaging Turn Cogent Research, threat findings, and product insight into original analysis that travels and generates pipeline. Own the flagship research report and the programs around it, with the research team and the CTO. React fast when security news breaks: ship the POV piece while the story still matters. AI-Native Production Use AI across the workflow and orchestrate contractors and tools so a small team ships like a big one, without losing accuracy or voice. Build systems that make the whole engine faster, like a living archive of positioning, proof, and research the whole company can draw from. What We're Looking For Must-Have 8-10+ years in content roles in B2B tech, with cybersecurity strongly preferred. A track record of content that moved real numbers: content-sourced pipeline, organic traffic and rankings, and engagement that turned into meetings. You've done it at a small company where you were the engine: shipping weekly without a big team, a big budget, or someone else's strategy to execute. Excellent writing and editorial judgment. You can build a point of view and explain complex security topics simply and credibly. Proven ghostwriting for executives, with a real system for capturing their voice. Fluent with AI in the actual work. You can walk through a content workflow you built, where it broke, and what you changed. Nice-to-Have Experience packaging research: threat reports, benchmarks, original analysis that earned attention. Experience running SEO through agencies or contractors, and a working point of view on AEO. Production ability beyond writing: short video, explainers, visual assets, or the judgment to direct contractors who make them. Familiarity with vulnerability management, exposure management, or AppSec/CloudSec adjacencies.
