The Role: Impact & Ownership We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Engineer to lead the architecture, performance, and codebase for our growing Digital Asset Management Platform. In this role, you won’t just sit in ivory-tower meetings—you will actively build, influence, and innovate. You will own the technical roadmap, mentor a global engineering team, and act as the critical bridge between complex business requirements and elegant, scalable technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Drive Technical Vision: Lead the long-term technical vision, architecture, and development roadmap for our core Digital Asset Management Platform. Hands-on Architecture: Remain close to the metal by contributing directly to the codebase through the design and development of complex, high-impact features. System Excellence: Take full ownership of system performance, reliability, and security, proactively identifying bottlenecks and optimizing infrastructure. Global Mentorship: Guide and mentor a talented team of offshore engineers, fostering a culture of high-quality code, efficient processes, and continuous growth. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical realities. Evangelize Best Practices: Champion elite software engineering standards, clean coding practices, and modern DevOps methodologies across the broader engineering organization. SaaS Expertise: 10+ years of experience building production-grade SaaS platforms, including 3+ years operating as a Tech Lead or Principal Engineer owning outcomes across multiple engineers. Backend Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in C# .NET, ASP.NET, and XUnit. Cloud-Native Architecture: 4+ years of deep, hands-on experience leveraging the AWS ecosystem—specifically API Gateway, EC2, Cognito, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, and DynamoDB. Frontend Literacy: A strong enough understanding of React and TypeScript patterns to confidently review PRs and architect clean, seamless interfaces. Leadership & Communication: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven track record of managing cross-functional technical initiatives. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (an advanced degree is a plus!). Strong understanding of Visual Merchandising / Merchandising required, ensuring store design and product presentation is seamless. Must possess understanding of shelf, accessory and componentry materials, merchandising systems. Track all production to ensure that each project is delivered on time and within the specified budget. Coordinate the Project Kick off meetings along with VM with all departments involved and coordinate the final installation with Sales, Millworker, GC’s and Retailers, Produce the Punch List and follow up until completion. 5-10 years related experience in VM, Store Design, etc. Expresses and decodes Brand’s image, values and sense of purpose.
