Compensation$85K - 130K a year

Lead system design and architecture, contribute code, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product on technical plans. | 6+ years experience with Python, React, TypeScript, proven technical leadership and architectural decision-making in fast-paced environments. | Why Clarium? The healthcare industry overspends on its supply chain by over $25B each year, the result of fragmented data, inefficient workflows, and wasted supplies. Clarium is fixing that. Our AI-powered platform, Astra OS, gives hospitals end-to-end visibility into their supply chain operations, automating workflows and surfacing actionable insights so supply chain teams can focus on what matters most: patient care. We're trusted by some of the world's leading health systems, including Yale New Haven Health, Stanford, Geisinger, and Kaiser Permanente. Founded in 2020, Clarium has raised $43M in total funding. Our Series A was led by Northzone, with participation from General Catalyst, AlleyCorp, Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Texas Medical Center Ventures, and 1984 Ventures. The Opportunity Clarium is scaling Astra OS across more of the country's leading health systems, and the technical decisions we make today shape how well that scaling goes. We're looking for a Tech Lead to raise the bar on architecture, code quality, and technical execution across the team — someone who leads through influence and hands-on craftsmanship rather than formal management. In this role, you'll be the technical backbone of your team: driving system design, setting engineering standards, and unblocking your teammates on the hardest problems — all while staying deep in the code yourself. You'll partner closely with the Director of Engineering and Product counterparts to make sure technical decisions serve both the immediate roadmap and the long-term health of the codebase. This role is ideal for someone who wants maximum technical scope and influence without taking on people management — someone who leads by example, mentors through code review and pairing, and is energized by solving the hardest engineering problems on the team. In This Role You Will Drive system design, architecture, and technical direction for your team's projects Write production code and set the technical bar through hands-on contribution, not just review Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and technical guidance — without formal management responsibility Partner with Product to translate roadmap priorities into sound technical plans Identify and resolve technical risk, tech debt, and cross-team dependencies before they become blockers Establish and evolve engineering best practices, standards, and tooling across the team What You'll Bring 6+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading technical direction on a team Deep hands-on experience with our core stack: Python, React, and TypeScript, including shipping production code A track record of making sound architecture and system design decisions in a fast-moving environment Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar of a team through example and code review Strong collaborator who can align technical decisions with product and business goals Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical tradeoffs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders Nice to Have Experience in healthcare, supply chain, or another complex regulated domain Experience scaling systems or engineering practices in an early-stage startup environment Skills & Tools You'll Use Need to Know: Python · React · TypeScript Nice to Know: AWS · SQL · Data pipeline / ETL workflows What You Get at Clarium Target Base Salary Range: $160 - 200K The base salary Clarium offers may vary depending upon the ultimate scope and responsibilities of the position and on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total package will include equity, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans. Incentive Stock Options proportionate to your salary Fully remote, with a NYC co-working space available; distributed team across multiple time zones with opportunities for in-person time Unlimited PTO Top-tier health, vision, and dental benefits 401K The opportunity to build on a strong foundational team with deep data and engineering roots at a stage where your work genuinely shapes the product A fast-paced, high-growth environment where we move quickly to solve critical healthcare challenges The chance to empower frontline healthcare workers by automating the administrative friction in their day-to-day Collaborative work alongside a high-caliber team of clinicians, engineers, and revenue leaders A commitment to diversity, actively seeking out voices and backgrounds underrepresented in healthtech A culture built on camaraderie, direct feedback, and celebrating our collective wins Equal Opportunity Statement Clarium is committed to promoting an inclusive work environment free of discrimination and harassment. We value a diverse and balanced team where everyone can belong.
