About the Role We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to build developer tooling that enables developer velocity and reliability for the entire engineering organization. Our team owns the full end-to-end development lifecycle at Chronosphere, from local development tools, CI/CD, dynamic testing environments, deployments, and releases. You’ll be working with the latest cloud-native technologies as you build an infrastructure platform that enables the engineering organization to deliver observability for some of the largest technology companies. In This Role You Will: Architect, build, and maintain an array of developer tooling that enhances developer productivity and reliability within a high-scale, distributed cloud environment. Identify, analyze, and resolve software development lifecycle bottlenecks and advocate for best practices in development processes. Architect our infrastructure systems to ensure reliability in the face of our high scale of traffic. Build on top of our infrastructure stack using Go, Terraform, Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS. Consult with engineers across the engineering organization as they build their systems to ensure infrastructure best practices. You Must Have: A strong sense of ownership and the ability to independently drive projects end-to-end from architecture to rollout. Experience in building high-scale and distributed cloud systems. A breadth of experience with context across the stack from the Cloud Provider and Kubernetes level down to the application container level. Collaboration skills both within the team and cross-functionally across the engineering organization. The ability to grow and up-level your peers with experience mentoring junior engineers. Excellent skills in an object-oriented programming language such as Go, Java, Python, or C++. Knowing a specific language isn’t important; what matters is that you’ve become fluent in one by spending a lot of time on the types of projects where these languages are used. What You Will Achieve: Within the first 30 days, you will work with your manager to optimize your onboarding plan for how you learn best. You will develop an understanding of Chronosphere’s business and how our infrastructure works. You will build relationships with your teammates and start ramping up by contributing small improvements to our developer tooling. Within 60 days, you will work on small projects and enhancements that give you breadth of experience across all our developer tools, while also being fully integrated into the team’s practices. Within 90 days, you will be fully integrated into the team and comfortable working independently on infrastructure projects. You will be an integral part of projects and work alongside your teammates to improve developer productivity and experience across all of engineering. Location: US-Remote Our benefits Health Insurance Coverage Flexible Time Off Competitive Salary Stock Options And More Chronosphere is an equal opportunity employer. You're encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't line up exactly with the job description. Your skills, passion, and desire to make a difference will stand out.
