Chart Industries is currently seeking for an on-site Project Manager - OEM based in Beasley, TX. While paving the way in the Turbo Expander solutions you will manage the efficient operation of your assigned projects, ensuring delivery of on-time products built to the specification, while maintaining or improving cash flow and margins. You will secure project execution and scheduling processes to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery. This will also include managing the Chart-Client relationship to build the necessary rapport and credibility to assist in the successful delivery of engineered-to-order projects. You will also directly lead the execution of some projects globally, managing internal/external resources to ensure the successful completion of projects and managing the Chart / Client relationship, project cash flows, budgets, and improving project margins. What Will You Do? • Lead Turboexpander Projects on behalf of Chart, giving direction to all resources, to ensure the successful execution of all projects. • Provide clear communication to the team about required goals, responsibilities, performance expectations, and feedback. • Drive innovation and continuous improvement strategies within the department, and the business as a whole, to maintain or increase project margins, and improve OTD and cash performance using robust operational processes. • Drive financial performance in line with commitments. Identify, evaluate, report, and seek to minimize any negative financial variance and ensure cash flow commitments are maintained. • Own and lead project execution scope management, risk management, and resource management. Drive accountability and ownership of this within the project team and the wider business. Ensure that project risks and opportunities are identified well ahead of time and are mitigated and realized respectively. • In partnership with Commercial and cross-functional teams, manage the resolution of contractual and commercial issues and disputes. • Ensure that departmental standards and processes are maintained and updated in line with industry developments and are applied at all times. • Monitor and report on the KPIs in the area of responsibility and review actions and workflow accordingly. • Interact and respond to all aspects of Chart Business Excellence (CBE) supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery, COPQ, and quality improvements. • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards in compliance with Company policy to ensure safe working environment Your Physical Work Environment Will Require… Exposure to Office and Manufacturing Shop Environments Your Experience Should Be... • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience Required • Demonstrated experience at a supervisory/managerial level. • Ability to work with customers and lead a team; organized and detail-oriented to stay on top of a project; hard-working, capable of working when required • Leadership, communication, negotiating, influencing, and interpersonal skills, with the drive and commitment to achieve project deliverables. • Proven experience in Project Management methodologies, tools, and responsibilities. • Proven people leadership experience in managing project execution teams in a made-to-order, bespoke project and customer environment. • Proven commercial awareness. • Experience in and commitment to customer service • Experience in financial control within an engineering environment. • Commitment to the development of a continuous improvement culture. This role leads manufacturing and rebuild projects, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and company standards. The manager also supports business development, manages inventory, and maintains effective communication across teams and with customers. A key focus is on developing talent and fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence. What Will You Do? • Oversee the daily planning, implementation and maintenance of the manufacturing equipment and service activities on-site to meet customer and business expectations. • Ensure the effective use of materials, equipment and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the function. Accountabilities • Ensure a health and safety environment at the Service Center (entire site) by working intensively with the team to implement Howden HSE procedures and standards. • Responsible for the deployment of the continuous improvement culture at the organization to deliver on customer and business demands. • Oversee the daily management of the rebuild and manufacturing projects to meet internal and external customer specifications and Aftermarket requirements. • Responsible for execution activities including parts and rebuilds making sure they are delivered on time to the customers as well as contains the required scope quality and supply. • Responsible for supporting business development opportunities into new markets that match business objectives. • Ensure that appropriate reporting, financial, operational controls and KPI’s are in place to measure and protect business interests and to provide notice of the need for redirection. • Effectively communicates with staff and upholds compliance on overall company policies, procedures, business issues and other relevant information. • Maintains effective communication with Aftermarket team regarding project deliverables and issues, customer requirements, specifications, and product development. • Act as contractual “middleman” between company associates and customers, ensuring timely review and approval / reconciliation of variations. • Manage inventory to meet anticipated ordering needs of customers; and meet inventory level adjustment requirements as directed. • Actively develop talent within your department and work directly with HR on employee relations. Must be willing to travel approximately 10% of the time, mostly to Chart Aftermarket sites. Your Experience Should Be... • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering or equivalent experience • Experience as a plant manager with P&L responsibility • 10 years of management experience in a business, manufacturing, and/or assembly environment • Hands on experience implementing continuous improvement processes • Knowledge of manufacturing performance indicators such as productivity, utilization, and efficiency • Understanding of manufacturing operations including production principles (capacity planning and plant loading), inventory management, quality systems, and purchasing functions • Mature understanding of financial principles • Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with employees • Strong interpersonal skills – active listener, clear and concise communicator (both oral and written) • Motivational leader and effective manager • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and people simultaneously • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems Desired • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and product testing • Knowledge of compliance to ISO 9001:2015 standards • Rotating and/or gas and air handling equipment experience • 5 years of experience in managing the servicing of highly engineered equipment and products • A solid understanding of the product offerings of Chart & Howden customer base Our Benefits Package...
