CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underground Utilities Project Manager to join our Gas Team as a seller/doer—driving project execution, deepening client relationships, and delivering innovative solutions in Albany, NY; Norwell, MA; Syracuse, NY; or working remotely. What You'll Do: Oversee the full lifecycle of gas engineering projects—from scoping and proposal development to scheduling, budgeting, and quality management Prepare proposals, project plans, project schedules, extra work authorizations, submittals, and project closeout documents to ensure on-time, compliant project delivery Play a key role in client contract interpretation and relationship management by serving as the primary client contact, resolving issues, anticipating needs, and ensuring alignment across all project phases Manage project financials, including forecasting, cash flow, resource allocation, and subcontractor payments Act as a “seller/doer,” developing work with specific clients and leading marketing plan development for target market areas Lead and mentor other Project Managers, setting vision and strategy, and supporting professional growth across the team What You Bring: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, architecture, science, planning, engineering management or a related field is required Minimum of 11 years of industry experience required; minimum of 8 years of project management experience required Demonstrated experience in managing client relationships and interpreting client contract requirements Experience preparing proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations, and project closeout documents required Proven ability to manage project accounting processes (budgeting, forecasts, cash management) Ability to solve problems with urgency and independently drive initiatives from concept to completion while overseeing multiple projects Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required; knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, and/or Deltek Vision preferred Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt style for various audiences and work in a collaborative environment Experience utilizing problem-solving skills, exercising discretion, and making independent judgments required Consulting industry experience and/or experience managing client relationships with investor-owned utilities highly preferred Ability to travel as needed required PMP certification, PE or equivalent professional license preferred Why You'll Love It Here: Lead high-impact gas projects that support energy reliability and the transition to cleaner, modernized systems Mentor and inspire the next generation of gas engineering and project management talent Join a growth-oriented, mission-driven team committed to technical excellence and client success Curious about the impactful work our Gas Team is doing? This position offers fully remote capabilities; however, occasional on-site responsibilities may be required if you are located near a CHA office. YOUR IMPACT CHA's corporate support teams provide vital specialized services to our technical business lines and market teams including financial, legal, marketing, business development, human resources, information technology and operational services. These teams may also support clients when their skills and expertise are required. The Sr. Project Financial Analyst is a key member of the Sector Finance’s Project Financial Management team and plays a critical role in the successful management of contracts throughout a project’s lifecycle. Often assigned to more complex projects and key clients, this individual will provide consistent billing, reporting, and sound financial counsel for our businesses and project managers. In this role, the Sr. Project Financial Analyst will support project financial integration of newly acquired business into the legacy entity including data validation, helping communicate new processes, partnering with the broader finance team to deliver training, and troubleshooting integration issues as they arise. The Sr. Project Financial Analyst will work with various finance and non-finance functions to support controls, accounting transactions, analyses, and audits. The professional in this role will interact with clients to ensure client accounts and receivables are current, including maintaining contact with clients’ A/P and becoming proficient with any external client billing portals to ensure proper invoice submission and timely payment. Additionally, the Sr. Project Financial Analyst may be called upon to assist or advise junior team members with questions and provide mentorship to new hires and transitioning employees.
