What you will do • Work alongside peers and technical leadership to design, implement, and continuously modernize the Windows endpoint environment, leveraging Microsoft Intune as a core management platform • Drive the transition from legacy and hybrid endpoint management models to cloud-native Microsoft Entra ID Join and Intune-managed devices, leveraging Windows Autopilot where possible • Design, implement, and optimize Windows Autopatch to improve update compliance, security posture, deployment consistency, and operational efficiency • Develop and mature third-party application patching and vulnerability remediation capabilities across the Windows estate. • Build and maintain Intune configuration profiles, compliance policies, security baselines, update rings, application deployments, and endpoint management standards • Partner with security, infrastructure, architecture, and application teams to deliver a secure, scalable, and consistent modern workplace experience • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive engineering and operational processes, leveraging PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and other relevant Microsoft technologies • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Windows, Intune, Entra ID, application deployment, enrollment, authentication, and endpoint management issues, providing senior-level technical expertise and escalation support • Help define engineering standards, technical roadmaps, documentation, and best practices that support the organization's broader digital transformation and endpoint modernization strategy • Act as a technical SME and trusted advisor, working alongside like-minded engineers to evaluate emerging Microsoft capabilities, challenge legacy approaches, and continuously improve the end-user computing environment • Experience in least privilege tooling, like PolicyPak a plus • Strong team and collaboration skills, working with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals • Stay up to date on industry trends and become internal subject matter expert and solutions consultant on end-user computing • Lead or participate in technology evaluations and recommend standardized solutions that align with enterprise objectives • Participate in major incidents, leading the team in issue identification, resolution, and RCA actions • Maintain detailed documentation of endpoint systems, configurations, and processes • Develop and deliver advanced metrics reporting to provide deep visibility into endpoint performance, user experience, and trend analytics—enabling data-driven decision-making and proactive optimization What we expect of you • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related discipline and 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and engineering modern Windows end-user computing environments, OR 11+ years of relevant experience. • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows, VDI, and cloud-based endpoint management solutions • Demonstrated experience supporting the modernization and transformation of enterprise Windows environments • Ability to mentor, guide, and collaborate with junior engineers, both locally and remotely • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. • Strong time-management skills with the ability to balance quality, business priorities, and delivery timelines. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language. • Strong understanding of IT security principles, endpoint security concepts, and industry best practices. • Ability to work effectively across engineering, architecture, security, infrastructure, and operational teams to deliver scalable technology solutions. Provide environmental status reports and architecture documentation to support teams to assist in monitoring and reporting, is a plus. Responsible for capacity planning and performance analysis of storage, backup and recovery infrastructure, is a plus. Recommends changes to procedures, which result in operational optimization and improved SLAs, is a plus. Provide consulting and mentoring of virtualization technologies on internal and external projects as well as to other CDW teams and coworkers, is a plus. Assist in the product development process of virtualization technologies as needed to further develop CDW technology platforms and service offerings, is a plus. Experience writing documentation, including installation guides, best practice guides, change plans and other technical documents, is a plus. Experience working within an environment that has an advanced change management program, is a plus. Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical customers, both internal and external, is a plus. ITIL Foundations Certification is a plus.
