Major Duties Under general supervision, the Customer Service Assistant plays a central role in supporting daily operations within Student Housing by serving as the initial point of contact for residents, parents, and campus visitors. The position responds to inquiries across multiple channels, facilitates housing-related services, and supports key administrative functions that keep the department running efficiently. This role also assists with the Off-Campus Housing Guide, ensuring accurate listings and smooth processing for property owners. Additional administrative tasks contribute to maintaining an organized, solutions-focused environment for the entire housing community • Serves as departmental front line: answers incoming telephone calls and emails; disseminates departmental information and/or directs callers to appropriate personnel; greets and assists walk in traffic - including but not limited to answering questions, providing appropriate forms; assists in coordinating lost or damaged key process; accepts and processes payments for various departmental services; and maintains a neat and orderly reception area; assists with lockouts and tours. Assists the Administrative Assistant for Business Services in giving direction to student assistants. • Processes requests from off-campus property owners for listing services. • Inputs and deletes information in the online Off-Campus Housing database as appropriate. • Processes the fee associated with listing. • Duties may include, but are not limited to, making photocopies, distributing memos and faxes, filing, and monitoring office supplies. • Performs other duties as assigned. • NOTE: To view the full position description, including all of the required qualifications, copy and paste this link into your browser: https://mycsun.box.com/s/1qxig39dhwrvjm8yklxx2yzcfprvzdxs Qualifications • Equivalent to one (1) year of full-time, general office clerical work that has provided the applicant with the knowledge and abilities listed. • Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in a business or job-related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. • Preferred Qualifications: experience working in a college or university environment; experience working in a housing or apartment complex; customer-facing work experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities • Ability to interact effectively with students, families, and visitors in person, by phone, and through email; skill in providing clear information, answering questions, and directing individuals to appropriate resources with professionalism and courtesy. • Skill in prioritizing multiple inquiries, handling walk-in traffic, and maintaining an organized and welcoming reception area while ensuring timely and accurate completion of front-line service tasks. • Knowledge of handling payments, forms, and service requests with attention to detail; ability to maintain accurate records, follow established procedures, and support routine administrative functions related to housing services. • Ability to work cooperatively with staff and provide clear guidance to student assistants when needed; skill in fostering a supportive and efficient environment while helping ensure consistent service standards. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more. • Classification: 1032 / Administrative Support Assistant / 1 • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3461 - $3673 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $3461 - $4847 per month. • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. This position is considered "Essential Personnel" and reports to work during campus closures/emergencies. May be asked to work evenings or weekend marketing events to be a representative to residents, parents, and other customers/clients regarding various issues within the department • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. • The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position. This position provides expertise and leadership for analytical studies projects that include collecting and analyzing data and developing processes to support Academic Affairs leadership’s planning, management and decision making. The BDUA is detail oriented and intellectually curious, with strong analytical skills and the ability to tactfully present solutions enabling the resolution and prevention of problems within Academic Affairs. This position contributes to the success of the University by conducting objective analysis to identify the key drivers influencing student success, business operations, the interrelated policies/procedures, and operational performance. The BDUA will be knowledgeable of organizational projects and processes and will be able to identify potential practices that may be negatively impacting the University and those that will benefit from creative support. The BDUA provides recommendations and training to administrative leadership within the organization. The position works closely with constituents of Academic Affairs and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions; support and develop a full cycle of assigned analytics/reporting projects; determine functional report requirements, develop the technical specifications, and design, develop, test, and maintain reports and dashboards. The BDUA is responsible for recommending topics for study and analysis, for determining and outlining the general project plans, and for recognizing when problems encountered are significant enough to call to the attention of the Vice Provost. The position will also participate in the planning, coordination, and implementation of campus-wide data and analytics products as needed. The application environment includes the campus student information system, Oracle data warehouse, open source, as well as custom or purchased software systems to support the needs of the University. This position acts as a liaison with a variety of other administrative and support offices on campus by coordination, researching, processing, recommending, analyzing/evaluating, and reviewing various processes, documents and reports. In addition, the incumbent will work closely with functional area leads, Institutional Planning and Analysis, and Instructional and Information Technology Services to provide data analysis and reporting to enable data driven decision making and consult on the development of campus-wide data strategy, helping to set goals and priorities based on campus need. Position Summary Business and Data Utilization Analyst (Associate, Academic and Institutional Studies III) This is a full-time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.
