You will own our entire supply-side ecosystem: building and managing relationships with national, regional, and local delivery service providers (DSPs); defining the strategy for how we grow and optimize our supply network; and driving the operational rigor needed to hit best-in-class delivery performance metrics. What You'll Own Supply Strategy Define and execute a multi-tier DSP network strategy across national, regional, and local providers to ensure coverage, redundancy, and cost efficiency. Identify white-space markets and capacity gaps; lead the sourcing and onboarding of new DSP partners. Build frameworks for DSP tiering, preferred partner programs, and volume allocation based on performance and strategic fit. Partner with leadership on pricing, margin, and supply economics to inform long-range business planning. DSP Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for key DSP partners, building trusted, long-term relationships with owner-operators and national account teams. Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and commercial terms with carrier partners. Lead regular business reviews with strategic DSPs, driving accountability against performance targets and surfacing mutual growth opportunities. Supply Operations & Performance Own core supply KPIs end-to-end, including successful delivery rate, on-time delivery (OTD), cancellations, refund rates, and DSP support ticket resolution. Establish and maintain DSP scorecards; drive structured performance improvement plans (PIPs) for underperforming partners. Lead cross-functional initiatives with Product, Engineering, Merchant Success, and Support to resolve systemic supply issues. Build and maintain operational playbooks for DSP onboarding, incident management, and capacity surge response. Analyze delivery data to identify root causes of failure, surface insights, and implement operational improvements at scale. 5+ years of experience in technology, logistics, supply chain, carrier management, or last-mile operations. Proven track record managing external partners or vendor relationships in a performance-driven environment. Strong analytical skills — comfortable building models, interpreting data, and translating findings into decisions. Exceptional communicator with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build trust with external operators and internal stakeholders alike. Experience with DSP networks, gig delivery platforms, or courier operations is a strong plus. Startup or scale-up experience; you thrive in ambiguous environments and can build structure where little exists. Bias toward action — you don't wait for perfect information to move forward. SQL or data visualization skills (Tableau, etc.). Experience structuring and negotiating carrier contracts or MSAs. We're looking for a Full-stack Engineer who takes ownership of problems end to end and raises the bar for the team around them. You'll build the APIs, integrations, and product surfaces that enterprise retailers use to run delivery through Burq, from the first design conversation through production and beyond. This is a high-impact role for someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do next. You'll spot what's broken or missing, propose the fix, ship it, and make sure it stays working. As we bring on large enterprise customers, much of your work will be integration-heavy: connecting Burq to customer systems, hardening our APIs and webhooks, and making sure everything holds up under real operational load. You'll also work AI-native, using AI tools daily to move faster, debug smarter, and take on problems most people would escalate and wait on. Here’s a quick overview of what you will be doing: What you'll do Own the design, implementation, and delivery of complex features across our backend services and web applications Build and maintain REST APIs and webhooks that enterprise customers integrate against, with a high bar for reliability, security, and clear documentation Lead integrations from technical scoping through go-live, working directly with Product, Success, and customer engineering teams Use data and customer feedback to improve the Burq Dashboard so operators can run mission-critical deliveries quickly and without friction Take ownership of production quality: monitoring, incident response, root-causing issues, and making sure they don't happen twice Raise the team's standards through code reviews, technical design input, and mentoring, and improve our practices in engineering, security, and design Use AI tools day to day for development, testing, and debugging as a core part of how you work 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and owning production systems Strong experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript on the backend Experience building web applications with React or a similar modern framework Solid experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices Comfortable with SQL and NoSQL databases and with building on AWS Experience integrating with third-party systems and APIs, including webhooks, authentication, and handling failures gracefully A strong ownership mindset: you take problems from ambiguous to done, follow through without being chased, and hold yourself accountable for outcomes, not just tickets AI-native: you actively and fluently use AI tools (Claude, Unblocked, etc.) in your daily work and adopt new tooling quickly Clear, direct communicator who can work with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers Nice to have Experience with delivery, logistics, or marketplace platforms Experience with workflow orchestration (e.g., Temporal) or event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka) Experience with enterprise integrations and security requirements (SSO, IP allowlisting, audit logging) Investing in you 🙏 Fully remote Generous time off At Burq, we value diversity.
