Assist in developing curriculum and training content, manage departmental scheduling, and support administrative tasks. | Pursuing or completed a BA in sustainability, green building, or related field, with at least one year of digital content creation and remote work experience. | Building Efficiency Resources (BER) is a national green building and energy efficiency services, training, and quality assurance organization. Our mission is to drive the evolution of the building performance industry through forward-thinking leadership, expert technical consultation, comprehensive training, and lifelong education for home performance professionals, all while maintaining the highest standards in our industry. BER is seeking a highly motivated intern to assist our training department with content creation support company wide. The candidate should possess excellent time management, communication, remote working experience, administration skills to assist with training development, project creation, customer service and special project contribution. This internship is 6 months in duration as a fully remote team member. All work will be conducted from the comfort of your own home. The workweek is Monday through Friday 9am EST to 6pm EST. This position has the potential for full-time employment at the internship conclusion, expansion into new areas of interest within the organization, as well as the potential for internal professional development, depending on the candidate. Primary responsibilities will include the following: · Work with the training department lead to develop curriculum and training content through research, slide deck creation and review. · Work in cohesion with other staff to maintain departmental scheduling and corresponding tracking for multiple departments. · Assist all departments in administrative tasks such as student/client onboarding and project creation. Candidates shall possess the following minimum qualifications: · Education: BA completed or in progress focused on areas of sustainability, green building services/construction, educational content development and/or business administration. · Prior experience in remote working or educational environments that lasted for the duration of at least one year. · High level of attention to detail and critical thinking. · Knowledge and experience in digital content creation for at least one year. Additional preferred qualifications include: · Knowledge and experience in curriculum development and marketing preferred. · Experience in administrative tasks, customer service and light sales experience. · Experience in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Teams as a collaborative software. · Knowledge and experience in construction, green building, energy efficiency, or sustainability preferred. · Eager to learn and ready to assist a growing company continue to be a leader in the building performance industry. Lead and manage the training and education team, oversee program deliverables, develop and improve training content, handle customer service and business development, and coordinate with other departments. | 5+ years management experience in relevant fields, certifications as HERS Rater and Quality Assurance Designee preferred, strong computer literacy, knowledge of building science and industry tools, excellent communication skills, and ability to work remotely. | BER Director of Training and Education BER is a national provider of technical, educational and Quality Assurance services for Home Energy Raters (HERS), ENERGY STAR Single Family and Multifamily Homes, LEED for Homes , and building performance professionals throughout the United States. BER (pronounced "Bear") believes in the value of energy efficient buildings and is dedicated to providing industry-leading technical and customer support to our clients. Our HERSPro department oversees the quality assurance oversight and technical support for our affiliated rater members. We are currently seeking a Director of Training & Education to lead our efforts in this capacity. Responsibilities • Managing daily operations for BERs training & education team which proposes, creates and delivers both online/on-demand as well as in person training to industry professionals. • Coach, supervise and mentor of all current and future members of the training and education team, • Create and maintain any departmental process documentation with the assistance of the training team, • Project management for the training and education team including but not limited to ensuring the execution of all program deliverables by tracking progress against goals and deadlines, • Serve as customer service, business development and sales lead for BER training & education services, • Ensures the development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement of all training content, • Work directly with other members of the Operations team and Executive staff to identify areas of concern, set priorities, identify innovative ways to address these areas and implement them within daily operations. • Work in cohesion with IT and marketing staff to ensure the development and maintenance of systems used in training delivery by creating, updating and maintaining training LMS systems to guarantee seamless registration and ensure accurate functionality. • Evaluate budgetary concerns for the training & education department and provide potential solutions to the Executive staff, • Identify workflow issues and ascertain if additional staff are necessary, • Participate in the hiring process for each supervised team. • Serve as the BER representative for continuing the business presence within outside organizations, • Attend relevant industry conferences and trade shows to help promote and advance the success of the training and education department as needed. Qualifications • 5+ years management experience in a relevant field (ex. Building performance, energy efficiency, training development) • Certified HERS Rater, 2+ years’ experience conducting HERS Ratings preferred • Certified Quality Assurance Designee preferred • Ability to work from home in a productive way, working effectively and efficiently • High degree of computer literacy, including fluency in Ekotrope, REM/Rate, MS Windows, Office, etc. • Strong knowledge of building science, HVAC, construction, energy efficiency programs and industry standards preferred • Knowledge and experience with the tools of the trade (ex. blower door, duct blaster, IR, etc.) • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Experience in customer service and support BER is a national company which conducts the majority of its business in a virtual setting. Travel will be required for both technical support of our performance services and business development needs. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
