How You’ll Spend Your Time Own and manage a portfolio of financial services customers, serving as the primary point of contact across the partnership lifecycle. Build trusted relationships with executive, operational, and product stakeholders at banks, lenders, and fintech partners. Drive retention and revenue growth by identifying expansion opportunities, supporting renewals, and partnering on commercial negotiations. Translate customer feedback into actionable insights for Product & Designs teams to help shape future platform capabilities. Partner cross-functionally to deliver solutions that meet client needs. Lead regular business reviews with customers, aligning on performance, outcomes, and long-term partnership strategy. Help design and refine scalable account management processes as Bounce continues to grow. Requirements 7-10 years of experience in account management, customer success, or relationship management within fintech, financial services, SaaS, or enterprise technology Experience managing complex client relationships with banks, lenders, fintechs, or other regulated financial institutions, with a strong understanding of how these organizations operate A consultative partner who can build credibility quickly, understand customer priorities, and translate needs into actionable solutions Demonstrated ability to retain and grow accounts through renewals, upsells, and strategic expansion opportunities while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction A builder mindset with a strong sense of ownership and bias for action - comfortable helping design processes, playbooks, and best practices as the organization scales Strong cross-functional collaborator who works effectively to solve customer challenges Highly organized, proactive, and motivated by solving problems end-to-end in fast-paced, evolving startup environments Interest in financial services, compliance-driven environments, and emerging AI-powered technology platforms Proactive problem-solver who has a track record of delivering value and active solutions to partners. Support legal compliance, manage litigation, and advise on legal policies related to financial services. | J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, admitted or pending NY Bar, with at least 1 year of experience in consumer financial services or fintech preferred. | We are seeking an Associate Counsel with an interest in financial technology and consumer financial services to join our legal team. In this role, you will work closely with and support our General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in our New York, NY office. This is an excellent opportunity for a new law school graduate (admitted or admission pending) or an associate level attorney with experience in consumer financial services to gain exposure to a variety of related matters. This role will offer support on issues ranging from dynamic regulatory compliance to managing litigation and providing corporate legal counsel to the business. About Us Bounce is a fintech startup revolutionizing debt recovery for consumers and creditors with our best-in-class product. By leveraging the power of AI and automation, we create user-friendly experiences that drive positive outcomes for all parties involved. How You’ll Spend Your Time Partner with product and engineering teams and operations, including providing legal guidance on design and new business initiatives, as both guardian of legal risks and innovation facilitator. Manage a caseload of defense litigation cases and outside counsel, overseeing litigation strategy, including consumer claims, regulatory enforcement actions, and commercial matters. Issue spotting, and corresponding application of legal standards to internal/proprietary machine learning and associated business lines with emphasis on federal and state data protection and privacy standards. Advise the company on compliance with applicable federal and state laws, such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), state privacy laws, etc. Assist with corporate governance and support on fiduciary duties and risk exposure. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including commercial agreements and litigation matters. Policy development: Help develop and implement legal policies and procedures that align with business objectives and ensure regulatory compliance. Requirements Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Bar Status: Admitted or admission pending and in good standing with the NY Bar. Recent law school graduates are encouraged to apply (must be admitted or admission pending). Experience and Skills Minimum 1 year of experience working or related course work within the consumer financial services or financial technology industry is required. Attention to detail, with particular attention to nuanced issue spotting for ambiguities and potential risks. Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a fast paced team environment. Professional level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Adaptability to change, able to handle diverse and confidential legal issues. Ability to effectively negotiate and advocate on behalf of the company. Strong desire to learn and grow as an attorney in a highly regulated and dynamic industry.
