Support, configure, and optimize the Epic Professional Billing application by collaborating with stakeholders, troubleshooting issues, and leading system enhancements. | Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Epic Professional Billing certification, 2-4 years supporting Epic applications with 1-2 years in Professional Billing, strong analytical and communication skills. | Position Summary The IT Epic Analyst II – Professional Billing is responsible for supporting, configuring, and optimizing the Epic Professional Billing (PB) application to meet organizational and departmental goals. This role partners with revenue cycle, finance, clinical, and IT stakeholders to ensure the effective use of Epic PB, driving improvements in workflows, system functionality, and overall user satisfaction. The Analyst II level indicates advanced knowledge of Epic PB, independent project execution, and the ability to serve as a resource to junior analysts. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Epic Professional Billing (PB) functionality, workflows, and best practices. • Analyze business processes and translate operational needs into system requirements and solutions within Epic PB. • Configure, build, test, and implement changes in Epic PB to support billing workflows, claims processing, payments, and revenue cycle initiatives. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues; collaborate with end users, IT peers, and Epic support as needed. • Provide system maintenance, monitoring, and upgrades to ensure stability and compliance with industry and organizational standards. • Develop and maintain technical and functional documentation, including workflows, system specifications, and training materials. • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate, design, and implement system enhancements and upgrades. • Participate in Epic upgrades, testing cycles, and optimization projects. • Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts on Epic PB workflows and configuration. • Support end-user training and act as a liaison between IT and revenue cycle departments. • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, security policies, and organizational change management procedures. Qualifications Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience. • Current Epic Professional Billing (PB) Certification • Minimum 2–4 years of experience supporting Epic applications, with at least 1–2 years specifically in Professional Billing. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, financial, and IT stakeholders. Preferred: • Additional Epic certifications (e.g., Hospital Billing, Resolute, Claims, or related revenue cycle modules). • Experience with revenue cycle operations, billing, and reimbursement processes in a healthcare setting. • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Epic Charge Router and/or Charging workflows. • Knowledge of SQL, reporting tools, or data extracts. • Experience with project management methodologies and tools. The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors. Coordinate and implement clinical research studies including participant recruitment, data collection, regulatory compliance, and assist with publication preparation. | Bachelor's degree required with 4 years relevant experience or Master's with 2 years, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with clinical research protocols and regulatory processes. | Position Summary This Senior Clinical Research Coordinator will support clinical research in rare genetic conditions by facilitating online enrollment, online, remote and in person data collection, collection of medical records, and collection of biospecimens from patients around the world with rare genetic conditions we study in Wendy Chung’s lab. Collection and analysis of these data will help us characterize these new genetic conditions and design clinical trials to test new treatments and interventions to treat these conditions. These rare genetic conditions include conditions that affect neurodevelopment, behavior including autism, structural congenital anomalies, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiomyopathies. The research coordinator will work with a team of physicians, scientists, genetic counselors, and nurses working together with rare diseases patient advocacy groups to better understand these rare genetic conditions. Key Responsibilities • Assists Principal Investigators PIs in planning and implementing clinical research studies as assigned. Under the direction of the PI, coordinates preparation of protocol applications for submission to the IRB, sponsor, or regulatory authority. As directed by the PI corresponds with the IRB, study sponsors, clinical research organizations, study participants, and referring physicians. • Recruits study participants for enrollment in clinical trials. Follows individual study protocols. Completes informed consent procedures as assigned. Organizes strategies for recruiting study participants and screens study participants for eligibility on the telephone, in the clinic, and other settings as required. Completes follow-up with study participants in prescribed settings as required. • Organizes study procedures and schedules study participants for study visits. Assists the PI during patient visits. Performs study procedures designated for the Study Coordinator. • Completes record abstraction of source documents, conducts required study measurements, and completes study Case Report Forms in accordance with best practice methods. Conducts a QC check of completed CRFs prior to submission for data entry; coordinates resolution of all data queries. Completes data entry as warranted. • Complies with all institutional policies and government regulations pertaining to human subjects' protections. Maintains regulatory binders, case report forms, source documents, and other study documents. Monitors the occurrence of clinical adverse events, reporting any to the PI, the study sponsor, and Committee on Clinical Investigations IRB. Updates protocol and amendment changes. • Assists investigators in data and/or document preparation for journal publication. Performs literature searches and pulls articles. Minimum Qualifications Education: • Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred Experience: • 4 years of relevant work experience required OR Master's and 2 years of relevant experience. • Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in which the information or problems are moderately complex to complex. • Well-developed communication skills in order to provide critical information to patients, effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and the ability to mediate fair solutions. • Advanced writing skills.
