Responsibilities The Operations Manager is responsible for the yard, warehouse, trucking, maintenance, and safety program functions. Manages the order fulfillment, "will call", and on-time delivery functions including product selection, loading, and transportation. The Operations Manager resolves problems regarding shipment or delivery of an order, and order backlog issues. Manage the transportation function including negotiating carrier contacts, compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and legal load requirements. Manage the warehouse function including receipt of products from internal and external suppliers; reconciliation of purchase orders; inventory control and storage design; pulling and loading products for shipment; training, guiding and coaching the materials-handling personnel. The Operations Manager manages warehouse, equipment and vehicles, yard and grounds to ensure a safe, OSHA compliant work environment. Manage loss control activities including fire, theft, and fleet safety. Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Demonstrates strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Working conditions are an office environment with some physical exertion. Performs some duties under seasonal environmental conditions. Preferred Qualifications: Degree in warehouse management, experience in transportation management, building materials preferred. Typically more than seven (7) years of experience in related job function. May require professional certification. Requires knowledge of a specialized field, such as building materials, transportation, warehouse, or management, and industry practices and procedures. Effective communication skills and leadership skills required. Responsibilities An Account Manager’s key responsibility is to perform marketing and outside sales of a broad mix of products and services dealer accounts through personal customer contact. Travels through assigned territory (Rhode Island) , quotes prices, and conducts sales presentations. Account Managers develop sales strategies and product promotions. Resolve customer issues, respond to complaints and receivable problems, and provide claims service. Maintain knowledge of competitor products. Manage territory/customers for profitable results. Provide promotional and merchandising support to customers in support of vendors. Account Managers develop promotions; administer co-op. Provide training to customers, customer associates, and contractors. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Important: This is a position that will require living in the territory. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Working Conditions for an outside sales position include minimal physical exertion; required to drive personal car to customer sites, including active construction sites. Preferred Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of building materials and product lines a plus. Prefer three (3) to five (5) years experience in related job function. Candidate must have effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or with teams/groups.
