Develop and maintain provider-facing applications using .NET Core and SQL, ensuring system reliability and support. | Bachelor's degree and 3+ years experience with .NET Core, SQL, and production support including on-call rotations. | We are hiring a Software Engineer to join our Provider Applications team at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee! In this role, you will support a broad portfolio of critical provider-facing applications and services. You will help develop, enhance, maintain, and support solutions that power provider data management and operational processes. Working across modern .NET Core applications, web services, APIs, batch processing solutions, and legacy platforms undergoing modernization, you will play a key role in delivering new functionality, supporting production environments, troubleshooting complex integrations, and helping guide the future direction of a growing application portfolio that directly supports provider operations across the organization. Ideal candidates for the role will bring: Experience developing enterprise applications using .NET Core Strong SQL skills Experience troubleshooting complex system integrations and supporting large-scale application environments Experience participating in production support and on-call rotations Strong collaboration skills and the ability to partner closely with senior technical team members Preferred qualifications: Healthcare industry experience Knowledge of API development, ETL/data movement processes, batch processing, and service-oriented architecture Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, and Entity Framework Experience developing and supporting GraphQL and REST APIs Exposure to legacy COBOL and AIX environments Candidates local to the Chattanooga and/or with a willingness to travel to our Chattanooga, TN headquarters occasionally strongly preferred (although this role is otherwise remote) Note: This is a remote, work-from-home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on-site in our Chattanooga, TN office.
