You'll liaise between the operating unit General Counsel, operating unit stakeholders (Product, IT, Operations, Actuarial, Claims) and state regulators to ensure the operating unit meets all applicable compliance and regulatory requirements. This role will be based in our Morristown, NJ office. We offer a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office; and 1 day remote where it makes sense to do so. What you can expect: Culture of innovation, teamwork, supportive colleagues and leaders willing to invest in talent Internal mobility opportunities Visibility to senior leaders and partnership with cross functional teams Opportunity to impact change Benefits – competitive compensation, paid time off, comprehensive wellness benefits and programs, employer funded health savings account, profit sharing, 401k, paid parental leave, employee stock purchase plan, tuition assistance and professional continuing education We'll count on you for: Regulatory Compliance Lead the execution and continuous improvement of the consumer business compliance program, ensuring alignment with enterprise compliance policies and state regulatory obligations Serve as senior compliance advisor to business and functional leaders on regulatory requirements, risks and controls Regulatory Change Management Review new and amended laws, regulations and bulletins for applicability, summarizing and communication to stakeholders Work with stakeholders to effectuate timely execution of change Privacy, Data Security and Sanctions Screening Support and monitor privacy and data security compliance programs Oversee sanctions screening, perform risk assessments, perform clearing of potential matches Regulatory Examinations and Consumer Complaints Direct and manage operating unit response to market conduct examinations, other external audits, and consumer complaints Work with stakeholders to meet timelines, prepare complete responses, and execute remediation plans Support and act as SME for Agency Licensing and Appointments, Medicare Reporting and Data Calls Oversee and monitor the operating unit’s compliance as to Medicare Reporting, Agency License and Appointment and Data Calls Support the teams charged with performing the day-to-day work in those areas Qualifications What you need to have: Bachelor’s Degree required 7+ years of state insurance regulation in highly regulated lines of business Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives and build partnerships with Legal, Product, Operations, IT, and Corporate Compliance to operationalize regulatory requirements Ability to synthesize complex regulatory requirements into practical business guidance and processes Demonstrated experience in managing state insurance regulatory inquiries, consumer complaints Excellent written and verbal communication, including regulator-facing correspondence and executive level communication and influence What makes you stand out: Juris Doctor or Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required Experience with consumer-facing compliance Prior Claims Adjuster experience with Personal Lines, Workers Compensation and/or Commercial Auto Demonstrated experience in managing state insurance regulatory inquiries, consumer complaints Additional Company Details We do not accept any unsolicited resumes from external recruiting agencies or firms. We will look to you to implement robust and reliable solutions and work within a team of SDE’s to achieve software development results. • Participates in requirements analysis, open to new ideas, stay up-to-date with latest tools and technologies • Collaborates with internal teams to produce software design, architecture, design documentation (High & low) • Write clean, scalable code using C#, SQL, .NET technologies and other Web and Middleware technologies • Implement and integrate APIs for data exchange between different components or systems. • Revise, update, refactor, debug code and participate in code reviews and applying best practices • Code enhancements to existing software applications and provide technical support • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) • Demonstrate the use of tact and discretion in all communications and provide a positive contribution to the morale of the department • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with unit staff, clients, providers, and other departments Qualifications • 3+ years of experience as a .NET Developer (.NET Framework, .NET Core, and ASP.NET) • Experience building full stack (backend, frontend and database) web-based applications. • Knowledge of .Net, C# and JavaScript. • Prefer experience in HTML 5, Angular, Node, React, Rabbit MQ, MS SQL, SignalR, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence. • Prefer experience with .Net Core, APIs (REST & GraphQL), Microservices, Windows services, Event-Driven design, Async processing, Multi-Threading and Cloud. • Database Management: Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of database systems like SQL Server or MySQL. • API Development: Experience creating and consuming RESTful APIs using technologies like Web API. • Good understanding of software design principles and patterns. • Familiarity and experience working with Agile/Scrum environments • Cloud Services: Knowledge of integrating applications with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS. • Testing and troubleshooting abilities: Ability to write unit tests, perform debugging, and ensure code quality • Knowledge of enterprise level integrations using middleware technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka etc. • Good communication skills Education Requirement • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant field The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees • Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Wellness, Paid Time Off, 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plans. - Base Salary Range: $85k-$110k The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
