The Assembly Assistant is part of the Tax Operations team, which services the tax department. The Assembly Assistant reports to the Senior Tax Operations Manager. Primary Responsibilities The duties of the role will include (but are not limited to): • Assist the Assembly Specialist with scanning and assembly, including the following tasks: • Assemble printed deliverables, including paper-filed tax forms, payment vouchers, and paper client copies of tax returns • Assist with scanning physical client documents • Process paper versions of organizers as requested by individual tax clients, including mailing of the organizer to the client • Prepare and file (electronically and paper) year-end payroll forms (such as Form 1099 or Form W-2) • Data entry and clean-up projects, as needed by the Tax Ops team Qualifications • This is a temporary position, beginning 1/6/2026 and ending 4/15/2026. • This is a fully in-office position, Monday through Friday. Lead and grow a premier wealth tax compliance practice by managing client relationships, overseeing tax compliance, building a team, and driving operational excellence. | Requires CPA license, 8+ years tax compliance/planning experience including 5+ years with high-net-worth clients, leadership experience, and deep tax law knowledge. | Bennett Thrasher is one of the fastest-growing independent CPA firms in the country, renowned for our expertise in serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. As a result of our growth, we’re launching a new premier wealth tax practice as a complementary “sidecar” to our established ultra-high-net-worth division. The premier wealth tax practice will provide specialized tax solutions for clients with net worth's ranging from $3M to $20M and help them navigate complex tax landscapes, build and preserve their wealth. Position Overview As Managing Director, you will serve as the Practice Leader and spearhead the development and growth of our premier wealth tax compliance practice, leveraging our firm’s existing resources and reputation. You will drive strategy, team building, client acquisition, and operational excellence to establish this practice as a market leader. Key Responsibilities • Client Relationship Management & Tax Compliance Oversight: Design and implement the overall strategy for the premier wealth tax practice, including service offerings, pricing models, and growth targets. • Team Leadership and Development: Help build and lead a dedicated team of tax professionals, with an emphasis on strategies that support continued growth in this service line. • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention through personalized tax planning and compliance services aimed at building long-term wealth. • Tax Compliance Oversight: Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, and related entities. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while incorporating strategies to optimize tax outcomes for premier wealth clients engaged in wealth building. • Integration with Firm Resources: Collaborate with our ultra-high-net-worth practice to share best practices, tools, and insights, and create synergies that enhance service delivery across the firm. • Innovation and Process Improvement: Develop efficient workflows, leverage technology (e.g., tax software and automation tools), and stay abreast of evolving tax laws to keep the practice at the forefront of industry standards, particularly in areas supporting wealth accumulation. • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor progress, and report on financial and operational results to firm partners. • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of continuous learning by mentoring junior staff and contributing to firm-wide training programs on tax topics relevant to premier wealth clients focused on building wealth. Qualifications And Requirements • Education and Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license required. Advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s in Taxation) or additional certifications (e.g., CFP, JD) are highly preferred. • Experience: Minimum of 8+ years in tax compliance and planning, with at least 5 years focused on high-net-worth individuals or similar client segments. Proven track record in building or leading a tax practice, with experience developing and leading teams. • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Possess a passion for building and creating new practices, with a history of successfully launching or scaling service offerings in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams, drive performance and foster collaboration. Experience scaling operations and managing projects from inception to execution. • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of tax laws affecting high net worth clients, including income, estate, gift, and investment taxation strategies that support wealth building. Proficiency with tax preparation software such as Scan/Verify and familiarity with CRM systems. • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a client-centric mindset.
