ROLE OVERVIEW The Admin Platform team builds experiences for admins and a foundation for the rest of Benchling engineers to build on, making it easy to guarantee that all applications on Benchling share mission-critical capabilities and are secure and compliant by default. Our Admin Platform is critical to enable Benchling to expand its footprint into new product areas and support requirements for our enterprise customers. We're seeking a Product Manager to continue the evolution of Benchling's Admin Platform, shaping and executing on a roadmap for the platform capabilities that delight customers and enable product teams across Benchling to deliver secure, scalable, and enterprise-grade solutions to life sciences customers. A critical part of this role is driving discovery, prioritization, and delivery of customer-facing admin experiences that empower IT administrators, system owners, and power users to configure, manage, and govern their Benchling environments. You will drive the development of intuitive admin experiences and self-service capabilities that enable customers to manage users and permissions, configure system settings, and customize Benchling to meet their organizational needs—all without requiring engineering support or professional services engagement. You will own foundational platform features including permissions and access controls, compliance capabilities, and cross-cutting identity services that power Benchling's entire product suite. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, enterprise requirements, and product enablement—requiring both technical depth and strategic product thinking to balance platform investment with business impact while delivering admin experiences that are powerful while staying accessible to non-technical users. RESPONSIBILITIES Talk to admins at our customers to understand pain points in current workflows and opportunities for us to delight them Work with internal partners to understand where platform solutions can enable faster delivery and better admin experiences on their features Prioritize initiatives that improve the admin experience, reduce friction, and accelerate task completion Define product requirements and success metrics, and collaborate with engineering to ensure smooth execution QUALIFICATIONS 3-5 years of product management or equivalent experience Proven ability to work effectively with engineering and design teams on complex technical topics, balancing technical constraints with user experience and business priorities Experience shipping platform or admin products in B2B SaaS environments, particularly those serving enterprise customers with rigorous security and compliance needs Curious and systems-minded: you enjoy digging into how things work and identifying where small changes can have outsized impacts Comfortable operating in technical domains, even if you don’t have an engineering background Clear written and verbal communication skills Experience with life sciences workflows or regulated industries is a plus but not required. SALARY RANGE Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role the base salary range is $153,000 - $207,000. ROLE OVERVIEW We’re looking for a Technical Solutions Architect with expertise across life sciences R&D and complex software systems, working as the key technical partner to both customer and internal engineering teams to design and deliver impactful solutions that drive scientific progress. In this role, you will work with customer developers and IT leaders, using your extensive knowledge of Benchling, modern SaaS technologies, and complex scientific processes ensure successful integration of Benchling within complex IT ecosystems. You will be responsible for scoping end user requirements, designing solutions, and ensuring the successful delivery of custom automation and integration solutions for Benchling users. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead technical consulting engagements with IT professionals at the cutting edge of biotechnology to understand their IT landscape (e.g., scientific/informatics software and instruments) and recommend how best Benchling can enable their informatics vision. Design, prototype, and oversee the delivery of cloud-based integrations and automations on top of Benchling’s developer platform. Engage cross-functionally with product and engineering to communicate customer feedback, and align proposed solutions with Benchling roadmap and feature availability. Collaborate with project and implementation managers to enable complex rollouts at large enterprise customers, proactively identifying technical risks and product gaps and designing solutions around them. QUALIFICATIONS B.S in a life sciences discipline or engineering/computer science 5+ years of client-facing software implementation and/or consulting experience, with demonstrated success managing enterprise-scale SaaS projects. Comfortable using REST APIs and Python to design and build integration demos, and write and share example code with customer Developers. Demonstrated success in technical leadership and conceptual modeling to turn complex and abstract concepts into technical assets. Familiar with modern cloud software development processes, tools, and architectures. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex technical solutions clearly to diverse audiences and work effectively across internal teams. QUALIFICATIONS • BS or M.Sc. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioengineering OR experience working in Life Sciences field. • 2-4+ years of Account management, Customer Success, Renewal Management, Sales, Professional Services, or Consulting experience in a SaaS software environment with the ability to forge relationships with users, decision makers, and influential stakeholders. • 2-4+ years commercial experience in negotiations utilizing skills to handle contract discussions and ensure favorable outcomes for both the customer and the company. • An understanding of Life Sciences R&D processes and scientific concepts is preferred.
