Lead evaluation and administration of data catalog tools, develop data dictionaries and metadata, perform data quality assessments, and support data stewardship initiatives. | Experience with data catalog tools, data governance team participation, ability to configure data lineage, and skills in Python and SQL for data analysis. | Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Beacon Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Data Governance Consultant to enhance their enterprise data governance framework. The role involves developing data dictionaries, performing data quality assessments, and providing operational support for data stewardship initiatives. Responsibilities • Lead the evaluation, proof of concept (POC), and selection of various Data Catalog tools. • Provide comprehensive administration and configuration of the selected data catalog tool. • Develop and manage data dictionaries, metadata, and data catalogs. • Design and implement tags, workflows, and landing pages within the data catalog. • Conduct assessments of the current data landscape and define the future state for data governance. • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gain buy-in and establish a network of data champions. • Utilize Python and SQL for data analysis and automation tasks. • Perform data quality assessments and provide operational support for data stewardship initiatives. Skills • Demonstrated experience with a variety of Data Catalog tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica, Elation). • Proven ability to perform detailed tasks within a data catalog, including metadata ingestion, designing data domain landing pages, establishing routing workflows, and defining and implementing data quality rules and monitoring. • Hands-on experience in a primary role (e.g., Contributor, Admin) in implementing or supporting a data catalog. • Expertise in setting up and configuring data lineage within a data catalog. • Active participation as a member of a Data Governance Team or function within an organization. • Clear understanding of reporting structures within a data governance team (e.g., reporting to a Manager or Director-level within a specific department).
